Funny (political, religious) pictures

I actually think that gun operation and safety training, even at this young an age, can be a good thing. Assuming that gun control and an environment with less guns in it is out of the question, teaching kids how to safely act around a gun can be a good thing. I certainly didn't own any guns at this girl's age, but around there is when my dad and uncles taught me how to shoot a rifle, and drilled into my head the importance of safety. Always treat the gun like it's loaded, never point at anything you don't want destroyed, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, always be aware of where your barrel is facing, etc. And of course never do any of this without their supervision and if I ever see a loose gun unattended to tell someone right away.

Now, all that said... this girl in particular seems to be holding two pistols that are both way too big for her, and the fact that she has to operate the trigger using two fingers means she has no control over these weapons at all, and whatever adult is taking this picture is likely an unsafe moron.*

*unless these are pointed at Matt Gaetz.

For some reason I just pictured someone sitting in the White House, holding some sort of narcotic in their hand, and going, "Duuuude... I feel like, y'know, time and space... they're just suggestions man..."

I love how "window licker" has become a pejorative, because I can remember where it originated.
This is the event where I assume the term came from, from back in the COVID days.
It even got a bit of a revival a few months ago.

That is absolutely not the origin of the term. OED says its earliest evidence is from 1986, which lines up with my having heard it used as an insult my whole life.

I don't think I'd ever heard the term before the video surfaced, so perhaps it was more of a regional thing before it got that boost.

Huh. I guess I'm not a terrible person. I had no idea it was about mentally challenged. I thought it was about dumb animals.

Every single insult we use started off as a reference to someone mentally challenged. If you’ve ever called someone an idiot, dumb, or a moron, then you’ve used an insult that started as a reference to someone mentally challenged.

English evolves, and there’s no value to taking some high moral stance on where a word came from. There’s no reason to feel bad about it, either.

Also the idea that getting a one time payment of $5k should have any bearing on whether or not you have kids is laughable.
Also immigrants tend to have far higher rates of birth than a Western population. Even accounting for America's Christian nationalists also having a higher birth rate than average.
