Weren’t there a couple of T&J that had a little orange cat following Tom around? Little orange was used by Jerry to get Tom into trouble. May be thinking of a Looney Tunes instead.

There were several kitten sidekicks in the T&J run, I think you might be remembering a sort of amalgamation between Topsy and Fluff, Muff, and Puff.
