What the hell, man?

Just saw this and was genuinely shocked. Didn't know he was sick.
Man, fuck cancer.

Also had no idea.
Kati is so disappointed.

I'm glad I re-watched Die Hard recently. Got another look at him without the effect of "he's gone" goggles.
Still awesome!
Too bad about losing him, as he could have been a great actor for many more years, but at least you can say that he definitely had a great career while he was around.
I am beyond greatly displeased. I don't have a long list of favourite actors, but he's definitely near the top.
Bugger.

And according to Wikipedia, he's been a one-woman man for almost 40 years.
...I don't know how relevant it might be, but it's certainly remarkable.

January 2016 has a strong lead for being nominated the worst month ever.
My best friend and I got to meet him after we saw him in a Broadway show in the early 2000's. (I need to dig through my Playbills, I forget the name.) He was soft-spoken but had that great dry sense of humor, teasing me when my camera was acting up. I'm going to miss him and his work.

Well, this came out of left field for me. Blegh. 16's off to a crappy start as far as celebrity deaths go. Really sad

Aww, I did like him. One of my favorite villains by him was Marston from Quigley Down Under. Master of the slimy bad guy.

My favorite role of his was the METATRON!

Robin Hood for me. He was awesome in that movie, it was obvious he was having so much fun in the role.
Dammit, this sucks so fucking much.

I think today I will watch Galaxy Quest.

So many great roles: Die Hard, Robin Hood, Galaxy Quest, Dogma, Potter, Quigley, HHG2G.
He was the only bright spot in such a disappointing movie. Hell HE should have played Robin Hood. Alan would be such a good actor to play a charismatic killer.

He was awesome in any role. He made Snape a sympathetic character. I think Alexander Dane/Dr. Lazarus in Galaxy Quest was my favorite though.
Alan Rickman was the sort of actor who could take a goofy role in a dumb movie and make it magnificent. Sometimes you need someone who can chew scenery like it's saltwater taffy to make it memorable.

It's funny and all, but if they're going to point out minor differences like freckles, book Snape has a beard.

I think that Samuel L Jackson also got his "big break" when he was in his 40's. That's nice to hear since I am headed for that decade soon.

Every time Arsenal footballer Aaron Ramsey scores, someone important dies. Good thing he doesn't score too often.

So he needs to score less often, the rest of us need to breed more, or we need to standardize on one form of dates oh wait we did.
True enough, but it's not surprising a British meme about a British sports player would use British date conventions. I don't see you post that every time someone posts something in the US version.

It was confusing to me until I realized what I was looking at. I would LOVE for everything to standardize. English, metric, JUST DO IT ALREADY.
...that's probably my most @Yoshimicksterest post ever.
