There is no nice way to say I am a recovering sugar junkie for lack of a better term. I have spent most of my adult life overweight and miserable. A few weeks ago I made a drastic and blind choice to ween myself off of sweetened drinks, normal and diet, along with standard dietary changes in pursuit of being slightly healthier and all that goes with it. I want to be clear on this too, I am not trying to go through life with no sugar in my diet at all, im not that brave, at least not yet. I have been on minimal sweetener intake for about 10 days and while i was VERY VERY cranky for the first 3-5 days I now feel excellent. I have been sleeping better, my brain feels less foggy during the work day, and ive been extolling giving it a try to all my friends, family, and coworkers. I have mostly been drinking water during work, and flavored seltzer(la croix)at night when home. when we go out to lunch for work i drink unsweetened tea with a splash of lemonade, and black coffee in the morning for my caffeine needs. I realize this isnt a paragon diet, I am more than open to suggestions, im not an expert, just trying obvious things to improve my life.
