[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

I decided to give Diablo 3 another try today. Made myself a brand new seasonal witchdoctor, got him to 70 in about 2 and a half hours, and then got him to Grift 27 shortly after. Certainly not the fastest of solo leveling, but a new record for me.

It's a little harder to level when you have to wait for someone else to level along with you (so they don't feel left behind), but now that we're @70, that restriction has been (mostly) lifted and I can get busy with getting my stash page. I will probably have to rebirth one of my HC chars in order to take care of that half, but that'll keep me from having to clear out a char slot...which I can't do until I get the stash page. ;)

Untwinked solo? Damn. My WD has 9h16 now, at 70P24....So, say, 8h30 for level 70? I have no idea what I'm doing so wrong O_O

It's all about massacre bonuses. I only ran through halls of agony 3, because the mobs are dense and easy, at the highest diff I could possibly survive (Torment) and focused on getting the biggest massacre bonuses I could. The only gear I ever upgraded was my weapon

It's also about taking advantage of equipment and quest/bounty bonuses. Doing them not only gains you the exp for killing all the mobs (plus your bonus exp if properly geared), but also comes with the big payoff at the end for...talking to a guy, or pulling a lever, or whatever.

That's faster to 70 than we were in a group. We did rifts non stop to 70. Then we killed the guy for our 4/6 set and ran rifts until we were geared enough to solo our 20s.

I'm working on getting my 75 solo. My 74 went well but each try at 75 was a gong show.

If you just want to level as fast as possible, massacre is faster than bounties. Assuming you can string together 200+ massacre combo bonuses, which I found very easy to do as WD

Got the full set, already had T&T and the weapon that makes GotD have no cooldown in the cube. Cover the screen in GotD, see everything melt to 25 fetishes, rinse, repeat...Just jumped up 3 torments levels and it's still easier going than it was before. I'm ploughing through T6 and I'm still half-geared in level 61 items. I had my doubts if Zuni was as strong as Jade's, but, um, it might be, yes :p

I got lucky with a tall man's finger, too.

I like haunt (with the damage boost rune) and sharknado for my attack spells. When you get to higher grifts and need to focus your minions, remember that you can resummon your gargs and fetishes into the middle of elite packs, and then drop a piranado on top to up the mayhem. This is especially good with the cleave garg rune, as they will cleave immediately upon being summoned.

It's not that hard with Wiz, either. Any class built for either good mobility or good AOE (or both!) can do it, the trick is moving from mob pocket to mob pocket and starting your new attacks before the massacre timer runs down. The timer will refresh so long as you land an attack on a mob, things like pets, sweeping wind, companions, etc. don't count.

You know what's gonna be really nice is when I get the Jade shoulders (or the RoRG), because then I will be able to 6pc Zuni and 2pc Jade, and once I swap in Creeping Death it's gonna be haunt city all up in here.

Ticks from dots, such as haunt and locust swarm (which were my two damage dealing skills) -DO- count, though. There were several times I would stand still and watch the timer reset continually while everything decayed around me, though I can't be certain if it was actual damage ticks or those spells jumping from target to target that did it.

Also, the soul harvest rune that gives you increased movement speed, combined with the spirit walk rune that makes you run super fast, combined really nicely to allow me to move from pack to pack before the timer vanished.

Have the shoulders, just don't know what other piece of Jade I need to go look for...And no RORG yet.

I'm now sporting Krelms alongside Zuni, not so much for the vitality as for the 25% speed bonus. I had to take off my Witching Hour for it, but it was level 69 anyway :p

Any. There are actually seven pieces in the Zuni set (and none of them are shoulders) so if you use the mojo to complete Zuni, you can sub out any of the other slots plus the Jade shoulders. If you use the ring + mojo, you might even be able to use a RoRG to rock a 6pc Zuni + 4pc Jade. (5 + 3 + RoRG) but you will be forced to use the Zuni ring and mojo if you do so.

I made it :) It was messy but I made it!
Saw you running with a pack. Figured you were augmenting gear or just pumping gems.

I'm finally > P100.
Jade + Haunt:Resentful Spirits = loot galore on T4 (numbers say the crits are going > 1bil). Maybe I'll try T6 when I get to play next.

You know, I didn't mind doing bounties when the RORG dropped more often in Act 1. Now I have yet to see another one and it's very frustrating to have so much crap drop. They really need to make those items worthwhile.

Yup. Right now though I'm trying to farm Goblins for those Cosmic Wings. Haven't found even one Rainbow Goblin in the last 2 hours though, so it's very slow going.

I've been trying for those for a while. They're so pretty. You're console right?
Yeah they are! I looked to find a good goblin farming guide and there is one which isn't too bad so far as I've found 2 Menagerie Goblins (yay pet companions!).

Yeah, I'm console. I know almost all of you are PC, I just don't have a PC which would run Diablo 3. This old laptop is the poop and we have too much other things to focus on right now before a new PC is something we would consider.

Previously the RoRG would only drop in Act I. This meant that bounty farming was a zoo of people would would join your game just to farm Act I (regardless of whether it was actually the bonus act!) and then immediately drop out. Blizzard changed things so that now the RoRG drops in whichever act is currently the bonus act, which now encourages people to a) do all of them b) in bonus order.

Did Not Know. I always tend to do most of them in bonus order (though I sometimes skip Kill Malthael...Since I solo, I tend to do bounties at a "comfortable" level (currently T6), not on Normal. Change in speed is fairly small as I'm pretty much limited more by my own run speed than anything else, and at leas this way the XP is somewhat useful. Malthael's just too long a slog and comparatively too hard a fight.)[DOUBLEPOST=1462723657,1462723606][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, it's probably just my luck with the RNG, but have drop rates been tweaked? I'm nearly P100 and I have, what, 10 Legendaries? I had two or three stash pages full at this point in S5.

Not that I know of. Don't forget to kick open urns and open chests, there is a "pity timer" that'll slowly magnify the chance to get a legendary until you finally get one, and I get far more from chests and stuff than you might expect. Also every mob has a different drop table, so you are much more likely to get a legendary from "big" enemies (golgors, mallet lords, punishers) than from scarabs or fallen. Elite/rare enemies are also more likely. But if you're after legendaries, then you want to run yellow rifts at either T2, T7, or T10, with as many other people in the game as you can stand. Being in a yellow rift will double your legendary drop chance, and the multiplayer bonus will push that even further, and those torment levels are the break points for the biggest steps up in drop chance when compared to difficulty.

I have a T10 speed farm build. I use the Manajuma's set and Angry chicken. I run around in chicken form to every point of interest and pop out to kill stuff.[DOUBLEPOST=1462726086,1462726000][/DOUBLEPOST]

I was hoping to recruit people to goblin farming. It's a sad, lonely thing.

Ended up making a Hellfire Amulet to finish the Journey. Already have 5 of the Slayer things done, too...Guess I'm just being unlucky this time around :)
I'm now sporting 2 Jade's pieces and 6 Zuni, though, and Krelms, so perhaps I've just had more set and less legendaries drop....Oh well. Onwards and upwards.
