Or lets all watch Fringe so that they don't push one of the best sci-fi shows on the air to it's death.

I'm part of the problem, I know I am. I don't want TV. EVER. I buy Seasons of shows on DVD so I can watch them at my leisure,

ex: I haven't watched the entire first season of Walking Dead even though I saw the first episode and LOVED it, because I want to watch the entire season in one/two sittings.

It really is a bitch isn't it? I mean, I hate watching TV. I would much rather buy/rent the DVD's of a show but then since I'm doing that they cancel the damn show.

Yeah, I missed Firefly in it's run, mostly because alot of people, I had no idea it existed until it was too late.

I tried watching House regularly, but I can't keep up with TV schedules and that show really doesn't "need" my help.

I will hate myself pretty badly if Walking Dead fails within 1-2 Seasons, though I don't think that will be the case.

I just wish that they'd keep a show on the air at least 2-3 Seasons and base it's popularity off the DVD sales.

I'm all over that. I'm not sure Mr. Fillon realizes what he's begun. -laugh-

You don't mess with Nerds, much less Internet Nerds though. Browncoats though? They're the most dangerous. If they do? They'll be very very sorry.

That pic really makes me miss it.

I don't believe Firefly will ever come back. But a TV movie, ignoring Fox rights BS and just heading for a Serenity franchise or something... it's possible. Improbable, but possible.

Sadly I expected that, he probably couldn't handle the responsibility of his under thought remark.

I would imagine it's much more that it sounds like a really bad idea to give your blessing to a website run by people you don't know to collect money from people you don't know. So I wouldn't say it's about not handling responsibility and actually being responsible. He never said "If the fans send me money" he said "if I had 300,000" dollars.

Wasn't it all he said was if he won the state lottery he would do all that? Just seems like a musing to me.

Browncoats hear very differently than normal people.... I would know....

So, let me get this straight He went on twitter and told him not to send him directly the money. Example : a letter with a cheque or a wad of cash. Go figure, that's just a bad place to put onself Or perhaps something greater is in the works?

mmmm

What, you can't leave the TV on with the sound off?!

Well at this point Nathan has very clearly stated a few times he does not want us to send money/attempt to buy the rights.

Now there are talks of a fan-made production. -sigh-

Nice try.

Errata 1 : There was no mention by Nathan to NOT attempt to purchase the rights, nor is the focus of the group.

Errata 2 : Fan made movie was already in the works before the creation of the group.

Nice try, perhaps you can research your material before you post next time.

Yeah, this was posted on the Facebook page. That was my research, blame them.

You missed the point, as per usual, whether it is the fact you're hard of listening or understanding it is beyond my deduction.

It's quite obvious the group has generated a lot of interest on the internet along with news outlets and a lot of excited people want to get something off the ground with this. There's talk of a LOT of things and your attitude in previous posts in this thread strongly irk me as you simply aren't able to understand what this means to many people who felt robbed of a great series (have you watched walking dead yet or will you wait until it's canceled before starting to watch it?) and I feel it would be best if the spam whoring could go beyond this thread as something really special is going on here that some of us want to helplessly look at this with a tiny bit of optimism.

There's plans in the newly created group to see what can be done, there are pledges of money of nearly one million dollars (as per last night). True or not, that's noteworthy. Nothing is concrete as of yet. If they want to do a fan made production with aspiring actors worth their salt, what stops them to do that? Or a web series? Another amateur made movie Browncoats : Redemption which I discussed in my previous post is an ideal piece of work to see how damned determined some of these people can be and it isn't too bad neither considering it was made for less than a couple hundred dollars.

I'll look at this with a grain of salt and if this somehow will get those big fat dumb Fox suits off their 1000 dollar chairs, I'd be a happier man.... at least for another season before they cancel it for the next shitty reality tv show that'll appease the fat fuck audience of mundane america.

In the meanwhile, there's always Castle.... oooh dear dear Castle.

They don't want money yet, they want to show people numbers, interests and tell everyone as they are waving a wad of potential cash, “听着你,你给我们白痴“

OK, so I'm rewatching Firefly since it's on. I haven't seen it since right before the movie came out. I'm not a "browncoat"/fanatic of the show, but I always thought it was really well done. I'm rewatching it to see if it still holds up. I think it does. Even watching the pilot there are a lot of scenes that make me think "Fuck, why couldn't this have lasted more than one season".

I'm even....starting to come around to the theme song, which I didn't think I'd ever do.

Also, anyone ever run a "Firefly" RPG campagn? If I was still playing, I'd definitely spin up a game using GURPS.

I have watch it recently AND bought the blu-ray special from Amazon (Thanks halforum!) I hope there is more. I felt this IP was "killed by Fox" before it was time. It has potential. I mean how long as it been now and the fans are STILL wanting more of it? We are not talking small change here (like 10k-20k fans) we are talking millions.

-sigh- This topic always saddens me and makes me smile at the same time. I introduced my lady to Firefly, my brother, and a few RL friends. All I can do for this amazing series is spread it to as many people as I can.

It gets harder and harder to find people who know about the series because as the years go, there is less and less exposure to new audiences. I kind of feel like I'm doing my part in keeping the spirit alive by passing it on to those who may have never found out about it..... keep the Signal going...
