Wow. I never thought a post on a web forum would make me tear up. Sorry to hear that. And happy to hear it at the same time, if that makes sense.

I've lost both my mother, and both of my grandfathers to cancer.
It was two years ago, August 31st, my mother passed away.
 
Not much personal experience with it, my housemate had Leukemia when he was a kid which took him a while to beat and the neighbours son had a Lymphona, he battled it for over a year but came out on top as well.
My grandmother died before I was born from a form of cancer.

My grandfather on my father's side passed away from cancer just this year.

Back in the 90's, my grandmother on my mother's side died of breast cancer and my uncle died from lung cancer.
 
A buddy of mine was diagnosed with intestinal cancer a few months ago and the prognosis was looking dire. He had surgery and the follow-up tests showed things weren't as bad as they had thought. He seems to be fine now.
