[News] Face, meet Leopard.

I wish I could muster the empathy for her, but my empathy is for all the people who will suffer because of the job she won't be doing anymore. And still, after her face is eaten, she pleads to the leopard.

They can call betrayed by their country as veterans, without specifically feeling betrayed by Trump over his promises.

I mean, they're probably majority Trump voters, the guy probably is, but the sentiment could not be aimed at T specifically but "the nation they served and is now not supporting them".

Yep. There's some who may have "seen the light" and realized they've been duped or taken in. The vast majority of this sort of stuff I'm seeing is still very much purely selfish "Didn't-think-they'd-eat-my-face-but-I'm-still-fine-with-other-faces-being-eaten" small-minded evil. I genuinely can't feel sorry for those.
They'll happily vote for DeSantis or whoever if they get the chance, as long as he makes the "right" noises about punishing the "right" people.

this is my personal pet peeve and pisses me off so much. You know what, jackass? We all begged you to open your eyes before you voted for that asshole. But now that it's *your* problem, suddenly you are enlightened? Fuck right the fuck off.

Actually, I agree with the sentiment that we need those people going forward. They are idiots who helped put us in this mess but the tide won't fully turn unless those idiots come around. Maybe they need to sit in the corner and think about what they did but they can't stay out in the cold forever for their stupid, stupid choices.

Here's the problem I see with that...these idiots aren't "coming around". They're just mad that they got bit. If the administration were to tweak things tomorrow and take these specific guys out of the crosshairs, I imagine they would breathe a sigh of relief and be straight back on the Trump train.

They don't give a shit about "what's happening to the country." They only care about what's happening to them, right now. The very definition of the phrase "can't see past the end of their nose".

I grew so very tired of this exact same kind of social outcry during the height of the COVID pandemic, where folks would joke and laugh about how the disease was no big deal--until it hit them. Then they wanted to blast all on social media about how it was all real, and people should pay attention. Of course, the irony is lots of people made that same outcry to *them* before *they* got hit. But they just shrugged it off. And the people just like them do the same. "First they came for..." and all that.

Yes. The reprehensible part of their attitude is not, "I didn't care about it happening to the other people until it started happening to MEEeee," it is plainly and simply "I didn't care about it happening to the other people..." -- because that's the whole crux, right there. They don't care about other people. Not even "other" people. Just other people in general. These are the kind of people who believe the rest of the world is REQUIRED to compensate them for every inconvenient (to them) thing they might do, and the reason they leave their shopping cart out in the lot, or toss litter out of their car window while driving, or speed up to block you when you try to pass, is because their perception is that since there is no immediate PERSONAL benefit from doing the "right" thing, they are therefore under no obligation to do so, and should in fact do the opposite just to make sure they don't accidentally lose any additional "credit."

I'm just saying this is probably the only chance to recruit.
