How do you fail this badly at a basic human interaction?
My theory is that he was treating the child like a dog. Trying to get it to obey and do a trick before getting the treat. It's his first time ever giving something away without charging for it, it's no wonder he doesn't understand how it works.
Well, it IS "trick, then treat", after all.My theory is that he was treating the child like a dog. Trying to get it to obey and do a trick before getting the treat.
Which in turn means huge lumps of "campaign donations" that make them also ultra-rich by proxy. They only care about keeping putin happy because he helps keep them in power which allows them to get taxes lowered for the ultra-rich.
Whenever I hear about politicians getting rich from lobbyists, I imagine them acting like Hexxus from Ferngully, except that they're sucking up money instead of pollution.Which in turn means huge lumps of "campaign donations" that make them also ultra-rich by proxy. Honestly, our whole system would change drastically if we reduced the power of lobbying and capped all campaign donations, but good luck with that.
Negative worth, even. Someone paid real money for that worthless money. It exemplifies the mindset, though.

It's so very Republican in a number of ways. Screwing over someone working in the service industry. The arrogance to believe that they can actually win people to their side by acting like assholes. Using the imagery of patriotism to try to justify their bad deeds. Etc.It exemplifies the mindset, though.
"Here, let me give the appearance that I'm doing something grandiose, while actually I'm doing something completely worthless."
So you're saying we haven't cut billionaires taxes enough yet?The GOP mantra in 1984 was "are you better off now than you were four years ago?". The Dem's mantra should be "has anything ever 'trickled down' to you?"
To be fair, FEMA said do it through regular channels or STFU. Similar to the military.Trump says he has ordered FEMA to cut off funding for California wildfires
This is mustache twirling levels of evil.
How is stating that "fair"? Even if it doesn't happen, he's still making a bid to normalize the behavior. A lot of people will hear that he did it, and fewer will hear any nuance to the situation. This is intentionally setting up for ever great authoritarian rule. Trying to cut off aid is only a part of the evil. Fair reporting of this situation is pointing out that he's a callous asshole with malicious intent, who is actively trying to make the withdrawal of humanitarian aid into a tool with which to punish his political adversaries. To be fair is to point out that it doesn't matter if he successfully stops the funding, because this is a big show to attempt to make people think that cutting emergency funding is to be expected from a president. To be fair, FEMA said do it through regular channels or STFU. Similar to the military.
Climate change has altered the winds and seasons here, and the whole fucking state is going up in flames as a result. If California can't get disaster help for that, then Florida shouldn't get anything for hurricanes, the Midwest shouldn't get anything for tornadoes, and the rest of the country shouldn't get help for blizzards, floods, or droughts. To be fair, FEMA said do it through regular channels or STFU. Similar to the military.
While true, it's no excuse. I'm sorry for misunderstanding what he was saying and responding harshly. I've removed the invective from my earlier post.Yeah, that's how I read it as well. But I think Tress is in a stressful situation right now, might be running a bit ragged.
