Why do I get the feeling from reading that letter that "Flint" is actually a 25 year old basement dweller who spends half his time reading Reddit and the other half playing WoW?

I mean, I want the kid to have totally made it up, but having an 8 year old of my own, I'm skeptical. I've found awesome things my son swears to have made up, only to find out they're straight from Calvin and Hobbes or something.

I imagine it going thusly:

Flint: Daaaad, my teacher is making us all write these lame thank you notes to this guy who came to class to talk about weather and stuff.

Flint's Dad: Well, the answer is to make your note UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME so that it blows them away and everybody talks about it.

Flint: But how?

Flint's Dad: Get your pencil, write this down. What's his name? Mr. Ramon? Ok, Dear Mr. Ramon, thank you for coming to our school to....

I'm pretty sure it's a precocious nerd that spends too much time on the internet. Because if I had the internet when I was that age I'd probably do the same thing.
