One man show of Jeff Dahm? Where do I get tickets?
During my MTG days, I HAD to be a bitch (not like it was hard) because I was the only girl in a good 100mile radius that played in the local tournaments. Even when I went to Pre-Release tournaments, I was one of hundreds that were female. To make it worse, most of the females that WERE there, were dragged into the game by boyfriends so they weren't that good to begin with. So by the time I would entire the top 100 or so in a tournament, I was doing the solo flight again. The constant stares, the "hushed" comments, the over crowding at whatever table I was playing at, it was annoying as all hell. That was one of the reasons I stopped playing, one of a few but still it was enough.
What was the point of all that? MTG guys can be very hard to approach, mostly because their exposure to females (especially on the upper crust of playing levels) is extremely limited. I'm almost sure this guy wasn't just shut down for his gaming choice, it was almost assuredly his choice of entertainment for the night and some extremely awkward/creepy vibe come ons.
