Looks like the official trailer of GTA 5 will be released I believe on November 2nd.
I for one would like them to build on what GTA4 gave us. I hated San Andreas despite the few cool things that came from it. I for one am looking forward to this game.

Based on the graphic that's been released, many people think this one will be set in a fictional version of DC.

I wish I could be looking forward to this... but to me, GTA IV was a big letdown. I had more fun in Saints Row 2 despite the horrible controls and framerate issues on PC. In GTA 4, I dreaded the missions and only had brief bits of fun going berzerk in public. In SR2, even though nothing stopped me from random vehicular villainry, I only committed any in the process of getting to the next mission as absolutely fast as possible.
Is there any word about a coop campaign for GTA V? Cause that was also a deal sealer on SR2.

SR2 also made me change my faith in the sandbox king that was GTA. I'm highly anticipating all news SR3 while being very weary and cautious of anything GTA5.
San Andreas was serious? What with the remote control airplane bombings, the sky diving, and the freakin' jetpack being stashed in Area 51?

I loved San Andreas, and seriously fucking hated GTA IV. It just felt boring to me, the awesome spectacle that was GTA was gone.
Chinatown Wars on the DS was way more fun than GTA IV

The GTA series hasn't existed for me since Saints Row 2 came out.

I'll pick it up. I've bought every GTA, and even though I haven't liked the last two immensely (or at least.....they were different than Vice City, the best one) I'll still pick it up.
It had a more serious "Boyz in da Hood" tone as opposed to ridiculous Miami Vice tone of Vice City.

*Shrug* I've liked every one since III. Bought IV, then bought both DLCs. Didn't mind the serious tone, it was still pretty goddamn ludicrous, and if I really need my beat-someone-to-death-with-a-purple-dildo-then-jump-into-an-airplane-and-fly-away fix, I'll buy SR3 as well.

If nothing else I hope it serves as a reminder to this generation's game makers that yes, colours other than brown and grey do exist.
Was the banner with five written on it, really necessary across the V? Or are roman numerals too foreign for people now?

Heh, I'd made a similar comment on The Escapist, Adammon.
But yeah, pretty trailer. I'll get excited when there's more known about the game. If they can fix the driving from the last game where you spin out far too easily...and no fucking cousins calling you every ten minutes...I'll be sold.
I swear they did a great job making it feel like LA. I was watching the video and just the little things made me nostalgic for when I used to live near there.
my guess on the V, is that, judging from the green curved cross-weave texture in it, they had the idea to make it look like currency... and then someone actually pulled out a 5 dollar bill and said "Oh shit! There ARE NO ROMAN NUMERALS on the 5 dollar bill!" And someone else said "Well, I guess we should write "five" across it on a scroll in the federal reserve font, huh?"

I guess I'm in the minority. I was completely underwhelmed. It just seemed...lackadaisical. I'm just not feeling the hook. *Shrug* Not saying that it was a bad trailer, but I guess I'm somehow not in the audience for it (which is a little strange since I love every GTA game of the last decade and change).

The game was officially announced in Rockstar's page. An important detail is that the game (as I was expecting) will be set in Los Santos as well as some of the surrounding areas, as opposed to all of San Andreas.
Personally, I think this is for the best. While San Andreas was large by game standards, it was kind of silly that an entire state wasn't as big as a real life large city. Better to have a more focused yet larger area, like they did with GTA V. Plus, there's always expansions.
