Brother, you ain't seen nothing yet.I'm popular and sporty, just like real life.
You rolled a shameless bisexual hussy and wonder why you're popular?WHY AM I SO POPULAR?
It was interesting that the same two people had more than one conversation in a day on the first day, but don't start picking out wedding china yet. After all, Jay talked to Gusto twice... and so did Frank. It doesn't mean both encounters went positively. It's hard to tell from the outside. So Cheesy and I are already on our way to being a thing? I'm not sure what to say - if only it had been so easy in real life!
I'm imagining someone's going to pull a wacky prank and the kendo team and track teams are going to have to help out to win the championship.@MindDetective and I are gonna have to pull quintuple positions or else we can't field this ball team.
The only cheats I'm using is the triple interaction value cheats. The audience demands the days be action packed! Are you using 15 minute classes cheat or choosing the time upon your discretion between periods?
Tonight... someone WILL die!DAY 3 EDITING IN PROGRESS... STAY TUNED, IT'S A WHAM EPISODE
That's what I said when you turned in your sheet, remember?!DAMMIT JAY!
Also... I've created a monster.
The class of Halforums: 21 go in, 1 comes out!Tonight... someone WILL die!
And then we realize this class was chosen for Battle Royale. The class of Halforums: 21 go in, 1 comes out!
Or: 21 go in, 2 make out!
And a movie will be made of it, starring Tim Curry as either the headmaster or the janitor. And then we realize this class was chosen for Battle Royale.
WHAT A TWEEST.
If they aren't careful, It'll be 21 go in, 22 come out.The class of Halforums: 21 go in, 1 comes out!
Or: 21 go in, 2 make out!
I'm pretty sure stienman is already pregnant. If they aren't careful, It'll be 21 go in, 22 come out.
Is pregnancy a thing to worry about in this, Gas?
AND YOU'RE OUR NEXT CONTESTANT. Working on the screenshots now. Don't worry, you have a fairly good day. Some drama happens in the background though.[DOUBLEPOST=1380983889,1380983301][/DOUBLEPOST]DAY 4: FILM FANATICWell, that escalated pretty quickly.
Japan. How many people put their academics at 5 that a 4 is so low, damn. I would probably crack under the pressure at this school.
I'm sure Jay wouldn't mind helping you "study".I just feel bad I keep interrupting people. I'm so rude.
Also, HA, I'm not smart. I'll have to snag someone to tutor me.
You'll probably get your wish and then some. Day 6 is Jay Day.Yeah, c'mon @Jay! Help me study!!
Damn it, Cheesy! You better take the hints, grow a pair, and ask her out!Justine finally puts Dirona to the question, and insists on an answer about Cheesy. Dirona admits she loves Cheesy, but asks that it be kept secret.
View attachment 12047
Leaving, Justine sees Cheesy himself coming out of the Boys' kendo lockers, and enigmatically tells him to "be nice" to Dirona! Cheesy is absolutely flabbergasted and can barely stammer a reply.

I picked it, and even I'm amazed at the evolving social dynamic. I barely have to do anything to keep the story going, stuff just keeps happening. Somebody at Illusion is REALLY into social simulation. You know, in addition to porn.Man, this was a total relationship episode. Fights, intrigue, romance! This is the sort of thing I was waiting for when I heard about this.
In addition to everyone else's crazy romance issues, Let's see how things unfold for me and Dei.
Jay's character sheet shows Sociability 5, morality 0, and he has the dirty minded trait.Heh... should've reversed my scholastic and sports stats, apparently... this is very interesting! I like how it's all playing out. Drama! Intrigue! Study! Necking sessions in vacant classrooms..... where was this when _I_ was in school?
And that wascally Jay had best be putting the moves on Lana. Not when he's already set on Kags, apparently.
I may need to give you some remidial Kendo tutoring Cheesy - teach you how to handle that wood.Yeesh. Being subtle clearly isn't working.Damn it, Cheesy! You better take the hints, grow a pair, and ask her out!
I may need to give you some remidial Kendo tutoring Cheesy - teach you how to handle that wood.Yeesh. Being subtle clearly isn't working.
Also, yes... yes... come to me and spill all your secrets! I won't tell.
Romance is in the air with Justine Me, on the next episode of Halforums House: Halforums Academy.
An open relationship? ExcellentI don't think simKags is set up for a good relationship either, becuase I know she has flexible morality, the dirty-minded trait and friendly and outgoing....
Anarchy.
And you love it!Raven is dragging my popularity down with her
. . . I might, and I'm the NICE one!And you love it!
Now put on this ponygirl costume... the other students totally won't shame you for it.
Day 6, apparently. Who do you know that's sweet enough on you that she might let you twixt her nethers, hm? Oh BROWN HAIRED BOY?Jeez, Jay, you are the wickedest student at this school! I can't wait to see where this "Justine or Kags" business leads.
As for me, Cherry Popper? When did that happen?
We'll have to see, but I guess lunch with Dei really did go well.Day 6, apparently. Who do you know that's sweet enough on you that she might let you twixt her nethers, hm? Oh BROWN HAIRED BOY?
No, your fine. Many Japanese schools do half-days on Saturdays or have students that go to cram schools on Saturday. Sunday is basically the only day that students have to themselves and that's assuming they don't have to do club stuff then.It occurs to me I wanted to do a "State of the School" post at the end of every week, but I only now realized day 5 was really the end of the first week, as opposed to 7, because you don't go to school 7 days a week. Duhhh.
Well, I can't roll back the clock, so I'll just have to do a day 6 "belated" State of the School post.
Boy am I glad I didn't go to school in Japan. Despite all the rampant totty I apparently missed out on.No, your fine. Many Japanese schools do half-days on Saturdays or have students that go to cram schools on Saturday. Sunday is basically the only day that students have to themselves and that's assuming they don't have to do club stuff then.
It gets worse.Boy am I glad I didn't go to school in Japan. Despite all the rampant totty I apparently missed out on.
Wooo! Get it girl. Japanese rule 63 poe demands sex for every show of affection.GasBandit said:Raven Poe and Klew DuckPirate

I don't think he needs a beating, but I think that might happen.Sim Jay needs a beating.
I will break you. *cold sholder*You're giving me a headache fatso.
*slips hands around your ample behind*
...sup
Do you go to this school? I don't remember you.Remember guys, "The Smoking Gun". My time will come. It will come.
What are you forever-aloning about? This is practically you, Frank and Just(ine) Me.Remember guys, "The Smoking Gun". My time will come. It will come.
Don't worry about it. Maybe you'll be lucky in the next episode.Remember guys, "The Smoking Gun". My time will come. It will come.
Actually, Next episode I think might be more YOUR lucky day.Don't worry about it. Maybe you'll be lucky in the next episode.
You can say that again.Damn, Virtual me is booooooring.
Hormones are a hell of a thing. You know, for managing to get a relationship that fast and that strong, anime me is a dunce when it comes to the idea of having sex in private.
Also, sounds like Dirona may be having herself some trouble.
Yes Dirona, listen to Dei! Break Virtual-Cheesy out of his wuss shell!Dei encourages Dirona to take the initiative, because lord knows Cheesy can't seem to.
Not to my knowledge, no. But in-universe, the kids wouldn't know that, right? They talk about it occasionally, but don't think it ever actually happens.I have no words. Looks like clubbing Cheesy over the head and dragging him off the bushes is going to be the only cure.
Also... is pregnacy a thing in this game??
Actually I haven't taken pictures of it, but you're making friends with Dei and Gusto. Not thick as thieves yet, but definitely friendly.FeMD is stumbling in on sexytimes a little more often that I recall happening (2 decades ago...!!) but otherwise is the unpopular, unathletic wallflower that I was.
I suspect that this will turn out rather games-of-thrones-ish, where there aren't any heroes or true villains, and everybody does awful things to each other all the time for no reason, and lots of sex.Ok, Sim Frank needs a beating now.
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd! The conversation turns to schoolwork, at which they both excel. Lord Rendar, as ever in such situations, eavesdrops nearby.
awwww yissss?During a lapse in the conversation, Lord Rendar asks Eve to accompany him somewhere, and Eve agrees. Klew is curious - nobody ever really sees Eve socialize, and there's something about Lord Rendar's aura that seems unusual. She resolves to follow them.
Unfortunately the only person who stands a chance fighting Frank is Justine (or possibly Jay but that's iffy), and she's over the moon about him (and Jay probably doesn't care about this stuff).Ok, Sim Frank needs a beating now.
It seems to me the common thread in the weave of the "less prominent" characters is they tend to be generally stable, reasonable people. The ones hogging the limelight have traits that make them act out, like Dirty Minded or Irritable. But don't worry, your day will come eventually as protagonist, and those days tend to be turning points for most of these chuckleheads.Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!
I wanted you to be an intelligent playboy. You failed me son.
Are you kidding? Your physical rating is WAY lower than OH I GET IT NOW dom humor. It seems that I could assist with that?
What are you forever-aloning about? This is practically you, Frank and Just(ine) Me.

Oh, you're not letting the grass grow under your feet. You and Eve Stienman are really great friends now (she's a lesbian though so that's as far as you go), and you've got a huge crush on Bhamv. She's friendly toward you, but it's not love. Yet.Well well look who just became third wheel.
I have no idea. She's very quickly becoming not fond of Dei, either. Dei has no idea though. Maybe they're a constant reminder of what she's not getting.WTH did FF do to piss me off?? Not cool cyber-D, not cool at all. Unless it was justified.
Well, obviously Mind Detective is coaching Dei, and I suspect in turn Dei has some kind of ... academic achievement reward system for FF?Also, wow to jumping up to first in Nymphomaniac. How the heck are AnimeDei and AnimeFilm finding time to study?
If you can modify settings mid-stream, maybe remove the out-of-shape trait? It remains to be seen if MD will continue being social without direct control - and another thing hampering her is her ULTRA SLOW MOVEMENT SPEED. Seriously, I think half the reason she doesn't socialize as much is because it takes her so long to get from one place to another, and if her target doesn't stand still she pretty much has no hope of catching them. Only Cheesy seems to move this slowly.
Yes, but I'm hoping it won't be necessary now that FeMD has some social contacts that can (hopefully) be reliably depended upon to seek her out as opposed to vice versa. If you can modify settings mid-stream, maybe remove the out-of-shape trait?
There's irony here, somewhere...Scratch that, I do have a comment. I'm dubbing Lana Karron with a new nickname... "The Hall Monitor."
Oh, you're not letting the grass grow under your feet. You and Eve Stienman are really great friends now (she's a lesbian though so that's as far as you go), and you've got a huge crush on Bhamv. She's friendly toward you, but it's not love. Yet.
Of course, this could be very unhealthy for you.
It was rather hilarious to see you stand there struggling to hide your boner while you chanted "I'm a gentleman. I'm a gentleman. I'm a GENTLEMAN."FemD-sempai!
And yet you read every sentence and clicked every picture, didn't ya?What in the actual FUCK am I reading here?
Y'all motherfuckers need Jesus.
Story of my [high school] life, man.It was rather hilarious to see you stand there struggling to hide your boner while you chanted "I'm a gentleman. I'm a gentleman. I'm a GENTLEMAN."
Ahegao...One of these days, somebody's going to find the jokes I've been hiding in some of the screenshot filenames, and then it'll be funny on even another level.
Oops, guess that cat's out of the bag.
Fun fact, the game actually does support Ahegao. I just don't document/screenshot it when it happens.Ahegao...
...
I mean, what? No, I don't know what that means.
I feel like we need a "Halforums Academy: After Dark" special...Fun fact, the game actually does support Ahegao. I just don't document/screenshot it when it happens.
Actually, to be honest, nobody's achieved it. Since those parts are unimportant to the story for our purposes, the extra time an effort it takes to break someone's brain with orgasm is never put forth, I just fastforward through it with the minimum clicking required to get a generally positive end result so as not to damage anybody's relationships. And the vast majority of schtupping going on is happening off screen, NPC on NPC. So actually, who knows, maybe it IS happening.I feel like we need a "Halforums Academy: After Dark" special...
Which nobody probably is, given how everybody started the semester a virgin and it's only been a few days.It is if they're doing it right
And now the whole damn class knows you're a FAH-REEEEEEK, girl!I am clearly way too popular for FF at this point .
Yeah. If she were real, I think she'd have transferred out by now. But since I'm in charge here, DANCE, PLAYTHINGS, DANCE FOR ME! BWA HA HA HA HA HAPoor AnimePoe. She keeps getting into fights, and keeps getting her ass beat for it.
All of a sudden Justine is all over Jay, on the floor, going at it like rutting animals.
But it still takes two to tango.
It may be a supply problem. You two have one of the longest running relationships in school, but Justine's eclipsed you, and compared to Dei you might as well be a nun.Whoa now, I'm popular?? This is so not like real life, it's fantastic!!
All the fights, gossip and chaos!! Best day yet!!
Also, really, Jay. Really?? My body's not enough for you??
It does, however, closely resemble your life on HF. Try going by "LittleKagsin" in real life too, who knows what'll happen?Whoa now, I'm popular?? This is so not like real life, it's fantastic!!
Half of my friends do call me Kags in real life, so I'm halfway there!!It does, however, closely resemble your life on HF. Try going by "LittleKagsin" in real life too, who knows what'll happen?
You are my bitch now.Poor AnimePoe. She keeps getting into fights, and keeps getting her ass beat for it.
Oh oh, my bad!...Without coswear and make-up, you look like Chandler?
World, shattered.
"bettter" most definitely. Still doesn't quite live up to your normal pictures, but I'll accept this as a compromiseOh oh, my bad!
This better?
In other words, High School.I....cannot decide who needs a beating.
Everyone it seems.
I hope the Anime Us's can cope with that! Looking forward to it!Justine is going to be a bad influence on you Gusto!
As a Dethklok fan, I noticed.I thought my bonus gags were pretty good this time around. I hope somebody notices.
The downside of this game's first person enforced perspective is that I'm not privy to everything that happens in the school in real time - just what the day's character sees personally (and even then it's subject to misinterpretation - it's hard to tell what people are discussing when you're a distance from them and the BGM doesn't reflect what they're doing (whenever you hear me say something about the atmosphere in the room changing, it's usually because the BGM has tipped me off to ambient tension/sadness/happiness/horniness/etc).Man, Lana needs to step her game up - if all this is happening in the halls, what's got her distracted?
It's just too much for one morally upright girl to police on her own. There are so many possible locations for debauchery. Who knows how many she HAS broken up that I just didn't witness. Was just being rhetorical.... and possibly foreshadowing! *the chord from hell*
I mean, if she's gonna break up a couple PDA's in the hall, how is she gonna let 'em go to town on the floor? What's good for the goose is good for the gander, after all.
I should like to think she's above corruption, but I'm wondering if she's been bought, a little bit. Bribed with pastries, perhaps. *evil glare*
I kinda like the forced perspective, actually. It gives it a very episodic feel the way you rotate through. The downside of this game's first person enforced perspective is that I'm not privy to everything that happens in the school in real time - just what the day's character sees personally (and even then it's subject to misinterpretation - it's hard to tell what people are discussing when you're a distance from them and the BGM doesn't reflect what they're doing (whenever you hear me say something about the atmosphere in the room changing, it's usually because the BGM has tipped me off to ambient tension/sadness/happiness/horniness/etc).
Sometimes I'm able to fill in the gaps by reading the savegame file at the end of the day, but that doesn't tell me how many PDAs Lana has broken up, for example, or who beat up who exactly (just how many fights someone has won).
This is just a wild guess... but I'm guessing you're at least 3 of Frank's rejected confessions. Seems your avatar also thought she's too popular just for FF now, but isn't willing to give up the steady supply of bootay until she has a guaranteed replacement.[DOUBLEPOST=1381291043,1381290950][/DOUBLEPOST]So now I'm second in popularity and first in One Sided Love? WTF am I doing?

Our first transfer student has arrived! NEXT TIME ONDRAGONBALL ZHALFORUMS ACADEMY
Take heart, there's a new kid - and his dossier says you might be his type, if you can keep your panties on for 10 seconds.I feel bad for my animesim. No one likes her, I feel like she should transfer schools and change her name.
Huh... just like my highschool years
Clearly, my only choice is to make him MORE HATED THAN ME! I'll deftly deflect all that ill will towards him, taking the heat off of me to slowly climb back up the social ladder, back to number one! Today highschool. Tomorrow... THE WORLD!Take heart, there's a new kid - and his dossier says you might be his type, if you can keep your panties on for 10 seconds.
Looking over the data, I think the biggest stumbling block between the two of you was that you both chose high morality. Makes it difficult to get all ecchi without a confession. The "Negative" trait on cheesy also makes him prone to depression, which is a moodkiller as well. We'll see if now that the drought has broken if things shape up.About. Freaking. Damn. Time!
Lacy, gently wafting curtains.Keep her happy and never leave her Terrik, or it's curtains for you.
Lana Karron, Lord Rendar, Tin Whistler and Ashburner X are in the same boat as you. I can't figure out any common reason, either - you 5 run the gamut of virtue levels, personalities, subconscious traits, and tastes. It's feels like my sim is the only one who hasn't even been either propositioned or tried to make a move.
I'dtry, but comparing personality types and preferences, it doesn't seem to be in the cardsSomebody, come, save me from myself! Come woo me away from Jay, he's no good for AniKags.
If you weren't so mean to AniPoe, maybe she could help you out.Somebody, come, save me from myself! Come woo me away from Jay, he's no good for AniKags.
I know that look... they wouldn't let him get an icecream.Hey, if you'd only sleep with me we wouldn't be having this problem.
I guess if there's a silver lining, it's that she still seems to run to AniFF for "comfort" each time Frank shoots her down, though I guess that depends on how much you care about who she's thinking of when she's got her eyes closed.Captain Cockblock he may be, but you got to give credit to someone who doesn't seem to give in to the bickering and gossip that plagues this school.
And yeah, things are starting to look a bit shaky with AnimeDei.
Frankly (badum tish) I'm surprised Frank resisted your first 4 or so confessions even without player control - the data indicates he really, really likes AniDei (and tomboys are one of his personality tastes). If he hadn't already been putting up such a strong resistance on his own, I'd probably have had him cave. But who knows how long he can hold up under a 6-hugs-and-4-confessions-per-day assault.I have turned into a creepy jock stalker oh god.
FTFY.You know, so far this is turning out just like my early high school years, 'cept for the academics part. I was a fairly quiet guy with a few friends, no enemies, no steamy romances. And then, someone wanted to pick a fight with me and discovered that I'd been practicing martial arts for like 8 years. Unlike most of the boastful nerds who really was secretly taking karate
Of course, all of that changed when the fire nation attacked.
MD has a fairly high morality, I bet she broke up an H session between Justine and Jay, and possibly it escalated. Something to that effect. I'm pretty sure this is why FF gets in so many fights, too, though how Dei keeps her nose clean I'll never guess. It would probably be more of a problem for Frank if he wasn't so indefatigable.FeMD has hung on to some of that popularity from her Hand of Fate day, it seems (and is putting it to use!) Although how did she get into a fight (two days ago)??
I think my morality is pretty live and let live, and I look like I am way to busy having sex and stalking Frank to give a shit about anyone else's business.GasBandit said:MD has a fairly high morality, I bet she broke up an H session between Justine and Jay, and possibly it escalated. just watch the first series opening. done.I don't know enough Avatar to fully get the reference
Yes. Well, not serial. The first kill sends the perp to jail permanently. Is there a chance one of us might turn out to be a serial killer?
*crosses fingers*
Pfft. Not even close to real life. If it were, the perp could attempt to sue the family of his victim, or get out with a slap on the wrist due to mismanaged evidence.Yes. Well, not serial. The first kill sends the perp to jail permanently.
Remember - this is Japan, there is no presumption of innocence. Also, the murder is near-guaranteed to happen in front of everyone in broad daylight.Pfft. Not even close to real life. If it were, the perp could attempt to sue the family of his victim, or get out with a slap on the wrist due to mismanaged evidence.
Jay kills Frank. Over a girl. Bound to happen.Remember - this is Japan, there is no presumption of innocence. Also, the murder is near-guaranteed to happen in front of everyone in broad daylight.
Actually, the opposite. Murder can only be committed by a character under computer control - while under player control, a character cannot commit murder.Out of curiosity, is a murder something that could happen under the characters own growth without user intervention, or is it something that could only happen if you pushed them to do so?
Well, in one of the epilogues I've pretty much confirmed who's most likely to get killed at this point. It's not 100%, but their survival chances are pretty grim, and get grimmer the longer the game goes on. But there is a chance they could stave off death indefinitely if they work hard and play their cards right. But they will always be in danger for the rest of the game.Ah, so you have to be careful to select the person "Voted Least Likely To Be Murdered By A Classmate" each day.
So the game is basically saying "We just can't trust you with children." at that point.Oh, and here's the extra fun part. If I am controlling the character who gets murdered, the game is over.
It's me isn't it? It has to be me.Well, in one of the epilogues I've pretty much confirmed who's most likely to get killed at this point.
Nope. As I said, my viewpoint has to come from one of the characters. It was either Round Robin through everybody like I am now, or make an AniGasBandit to serve as the viewpoint. But I didn't want the story to have me as sole protagonist, and each character getting a turn as the Pawn of Fate allows me to make teensy adjustments to people who are otherwise.. stuck in their habits, and not as interesting as they otherwise could be. Sometimes some people just need a little shove to get them started. It would be nice if it allowed GB to just let the characters play themselves out, but it seems like that's not possible.
Well, ordinarily I'd just say "Go back and read the thread, noob!" But I know you're a busy guy on a tight leash, so here's a spoiler. It's me isn't it? It has to be me.
I just hope my grisly death doesn't involve invasive tentacles. That's a pretty common death in these kinds of settings right?
Well, ordinarily I'd just say "Go back and read the thread, noob!" But I know you're a busy guy on a tight leash, so here's a spoiler.
Terrik is most at risk. He's become involved in an official relationship with the school's only student with the Evil subconscious trait. This means if their relationship falters to the point where a breakup would normally occur, she's almost certain to stab him to death in front of everyone. The only way Terrik can now survive is if
1) he keeps Bhamv Three happy for the rest of the game, or
2) Bhamv falls in love with someone else simultaneously and it doesn't work out and she kills THEM first, thus being sent to prison and sparing Terrik, or
3) if another Evil student transfers in who gets her to fall for them, and that person then kills Bhamv.
As you can see, it's a grim prospect.
I suppose, technically, I could also just have Bhamv transfer out, but that's almost cheating.
This can only mean pleasant things are about to occur.Ugh this was a mistake. But the light is at the end of the tunnel. 30-45 mins to go, tops
No, I mean I'm trying to represent the data graphically, and I have just given birth to a technicolor cat's cradle from rainbow hell. You'll see, in about 15 mins. This can only mean pleasant things are about to occur.
I had no idea I'd interacted with her at all. Maybe I forgot. The most inexplicable thing is you have a 14 level crush on Raven Poe, and she is 1 point from hating you.
It must have happened off camera at some point. But I can't imagine what would bring about this kind of dynamic outside of an official (but unhealthy) relationship. In theory, any botched or bad interactions between the two of you should damage your esteem for her as well. Maybe she's just your type and you're not hers and it added up over time?I had no idea I'd interacted with her at all. Maybe I forgot.
Actually, irony of ironies, you and Kags have patched things up and have a very strong friendship (14/11). But yeah, apart from her and Gusto, and MD and Bubble starting to warm to you... not much going for you atm.[DOUBLEPOST=1381473162,1381472954][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm surprised I don't have a lot more hate arrows.
At least I have one friend... who I apparently almost hate.
Hah, that's pretty good... but Terrik's hair is a darker shade of brown. That's either Tin or Film.
So apparently Bubble hates me, but I like Bubble.
And apparently I like Bhamv as a friend. Maybe I can help her stab Terrik.

I had no idea how much I was biting off. It took way longer and was way more involved than I thought it would be. And I had pretty restrictive data requirements, too.Damn Gas, that project you worked on... damn.
You can always just check the stone near the river and print screen that character's opinion from others as well. I think that would be neat.I had no idea
Yeah, but that has issues. It only gives you half the story and only for the currently controlled character - it shows you what others think of you but not what you think of them, and the translations are notoriously bad/misleading. You probably noticed I retranslated the personality types again myself because what they were called in the fan translation are also largely false/misleading.You can always just check the stone near the river and print screen that character's opinion from others as well. I think that would be neat.
Thanks for the tip, I may have to check it out. I wish the save editor I use to view data could just dump to a (non encrypted) file, even if only to CSV.I have some network graphing software I tinker with sometimes. The easiest one to pick up (if you have Excel experience) is NodeXL, which is just a plugin to Excel. It'll let you create graphs like you are trying to make and even arrange them in the easiest to read fashion. It's all managed from a spreadsheet.
Chances are you walked in on them doin' it and griped at them. It doesn't take much to go from "stranger" (4) to "hate" (2 or below, in your case, 0). Catching somebody else having sex lowers the catcher's opinion of the caught, unless the catcher is a complete moral reprobate, in which the catcher might watch and get worked up themselves. You said I just inexplicably started hating Dei and Cheesy, despite no having no real reason for it. Jealousy thing maybe?
I wonder if there's a correlation between opinion of you and walking speed... the faster people get there first to break you up, so the slower people don't lower their opinion of you.Damn, how does anyone like me then?!
I was going to point out that Frank is Captain Cockblock and he loves me, but then you mentioned the hug bombing.GasBandit said:I wonder if there's a correlation between opinion of you and walking speed... the faster people get there first to break you up, so the slower people don't lower their opinion of you. You get yelled at for public sex all the time, and unlike your girlfriend, you are not a cute spunky redhead with a hugging fixation.Man, I can't believe how hated I seem to be and how few friends I've actually got at this place.
...Valid point. You get yelled at for public sex all the time, and unlike your girlfriend, you are not a cute spunky redhead with a hugging fixation.
Metadata is leading me to believe that Dirona is extremely... "frustrated." I'm actually kind of worried about her mental health because of it. And because of the way this particular data compiles, it's not something I can fix easily in the editor. It kind of confuses the game and basically right now Dirona is 2 points from hating.. herself?Yikes, wandering eye much. AniDirona's clearly not satisifed with Cheesy's, uh, output. Or perhaps she just needs attention from more than one partner??
Maybe. I don't know how a breakdown would affect her, but Dirona hasn't done any (more) pouncing at all that I can tell, despite the raging case of soaking squirmies. Not many more days until Cheesy is firmly gripped by the hand of fate though, so relief may come. But will it be in time? Will it be in time??Wahahaha! Sexual frustration leads to mental break... not quite like highschool, but certainly visible from there.
Can't I just pounce on some one and get it out of my system? Surely there's some loose boys around the campus who would be (god forgive me) up for it.
True story. We found a router (the power tool variety) with a bonkers and useless attachment on it once on a scene. It wasn't until someone came across a gigantic black dildo with a metal stud affixed to the bottom of it that we put two and two together. That day would be the easiest update ever.
I don't know what you did, but your only remaining friends are Frank and Eve. Also? Bhamv may be your girlfriend but she's not putting out. This is getting you mighty ticked. And that's not a good way to maintain a relationship that is coterminous with your life.Wow did my popularity drop.
A confrontation with Frank is just liable to lose FF teeth. His only real hope would be to catch them together and try to force a confrontation. It's risky, as I'd say it's about 50 50 between the two of you, but a beating at the business end of FtT is sure as ten dimes buys you a dollar. Of course, she also might pull a Jay and try to say she's woman enough for both of you/can't decide. So, AnimeDei and AnimeFrank have officially become a couple, huh? I wonder if he will stand up for himself and attempt to take on "The Tank".
...That, or just accept the situation and move on.
Like she wears anything to keep those panties up!Justine Me has started banging Gusto like it's going out of style. Or.. whichever means "a whole lot." The total notches on her belt.. er.. garter, or whatever, now exceed even that of Dei and FF.

I SWEAR TO GOD, GBTune in in approximately 1 hour for Day 14: Tin Whistler's Completely Ordinary Day In Which Certainly Nobody Dies Or Anything.
Indeed.. It was a very near thing as to who was going to end up with Bhamv between Terrik and Eve Stienman.Looks like eve dodged a bullet there...
If that's what's written in the yearbook under my name... well... I guess I left an impression after all.
Well, if you're looking for extra creepy, this game is made by Illusion. Makers of that 'other' infamous h-game.I'm surprised there isn't a teacher option in this, for extra creepiness.
More like makers of ALL the most infamous h-games. They are a pretty prolific company actually.Well, if you're looking for extra creepy, this game is made by Illusion. Makers of that 'other' infamous h-game.
Hah, believe it or not I do occasionally have to leave the house on weekends too>.> Are we going to get multiple updates since it's Saturday?!
If Terrik wants, I suppose... but don't you think that would cheapen the impact of his death?Maybe Terrik's twin sister, Kirret, can transfer into class?
This is actually starting to sound like my senior year in high school. Had a few really good friends, and a couple of enemies. I was a National Merit scholar, though, but not a lot of my friends actually knew that. By my senior year, though, I was done being the quiet guy that nobody sees, and instead, started making a spectacle of myself in PE class. Our coach used to do those handstand wall pushups during 5th period class (what we called "chinese pushups" back in the day). He never did them during any other time slot than that one, I suspect because we shared the same time slot as the drill team, and they were usually in the gym at the same time as us. I'd often jump on the wall right after he started, and do them myself, calling out the number we'd done as loudly as I could. Of course, that would get everyone's attention, so he was stuck. When he finished his, I'd always do four or five more, just to be a little jerk.DAY 14: TIN WHISTLER
Tin Whistler doesn't stand out of the pack. He's middling in popularity, scholastics and athletics. He's enemies with Raven Poe (but who isn't these days) and Lord Rendar, and great friends with Frank, Bones and Jay. He's also pretty chummy with Dirona and Cheesy. After so many days of couple-focused episodes, I thought it would be good to follow somebody who has a wider frame of possible interactions.
Yeah, something like that happened, too. Though, back in the day, it wasn't as acceptable as it is today--especially in a small Texas town.As Tin is about to leave the library, he's stopped by Frank. "Hey, wait a sec." "What's up?"

"Ohhhhh myyyyy." - George Takei.
I slept a lot my senior year. I had moved out of my parents house, was working at Taco Bell until 2am, and then getting up at 6am for driver's ed. Luckily, my teachers were rather understanding, and on more than one occasion, just let me sleep all the way through the next period. I'm sure they wouldn't have been so nice about it if I weren't a straight A student in honors classes, though. I never really needed to study to ace most of my classes. It's the end of lunch, anyway. Again Tinwhistler's circadian rhythm fails him and he falls asleep in afternoon classes as well. This is not how one progresses in their studies, Tin.
Not as much as in the sims - no ghosts coming back from the dead or anything like that. But there are some effects.Aw, @Ravenpoe that's so nice of you to stick up for me.
I'm so sad Terrik's gone. Do deaths affect the game a lot? I'm interested to see what happens in the aftermath...
When I was a senior in high school, one of my classmates committed suicide. There was no assembly and homework and tests were only put off 1 day, but a grief counselor was made available. I wasn't more than a casual acquaintance of his (we only had one class together), but some of the others took it really hard, including one guy who had been friends with him since kindergarten. If this were 'MURICA the school would have a huge assembly, grief counselors on hand, and no real expectation of homework or tests for a week or two after the funeral.
When I was a junior in high school, a kid I sorta knew commit suicide. There was no announcement, nor any relief from schoolwork. However, people who knew him got the day off for his funeral. Naturally, many of the same jackasses who made his life miserable in school took the day off and went to his funeral and were insufferable jerks. I barely knew the kid, but I still wanted to go all stabbity stabbity on those pricks. When I was a senior in high school, one of my classmates committed suicide. I imagine several of the original class members are now teaching there as well... why do they always deny the murder and say the tales of the girl with green hair are just myths? And why are students forbidden from entering that old classroom...?Flash forward twenty years: The Halforum High murder is nothing more than rumor and speculation now. A result of the town's best efforts to cover up the tragedy. Most agree the victim was a high school student, but age/sex always changes from story to story. The murderer is always someone different. In one variation it was an enraged lover. In another it was an alien with green hair and knives for hands. A popular theory being that the student died of sudden heart failure, despite no medical findings as to exactly why. Then... on the 20th anniversary... another student is found dead. Murdered. Slashed to death with a razor sharp weapon that is never found. No suspects. No leads. Adults are panicking. A few are whispering to each other, and the police are checking specific files. But no one is saying anything to the students. There are rumors circulating. Apparently, just after the student was found dead, someone saw a flash of green hair.
Coming this summer....
STABBY-TOWN HIGH!: You'll WISH it was a game.
Shawn Acy is the unassuming Janitor (with his grades I doubt he could do much else). He's never killed. He's never a suspect. Goes practically unnoticed except when chasing the stoners away from his shed. Just keeps mopping up the blood in the hallways to make sure no one slips and breaks their neck.I imagine several of the original class members are now teaching there as well... why do they always deny the murder and say the tales of the girl with green hair are just myths? Then, Kags isn't sure what just happened, but Jay's talking to Dirona and Tin Whistler's talking to Frank, and she's standing there - as close to a literal definition of a fifth wheel as it is possible to be. So she leaves.
Perhaps the death of a student made us all do a bit of self-evaluation about our bickering and all of the sleeping around and we realized that we aren't exactly the great people we could be. Of course, give them time and victories and the self-evaluation may be forgotten. Also, why does every seem to hate themselves? Is it because of personality traits, or all the sleeping around everyone is doing?
That's possible. It sounds like a lot of students had self-loathing before the death. Maybe the death is just sending everyone over the edge.Perhaps the death of a student made us all do a bit of self-evaluation about our bickering and all of the sleeping around and we realized that we aren't exactly the great people we could be. Of course, give them time and victories and the self-evaluation may be forgotten.
I wish I knew. Everything I try to do, both in game and out, to fix it doesn't work. I made backups of the save and tried editing the file, but it changes back the ratings at the end of the day which makes me think it's being generated by some other statistic for the character - and as all the fields aren't mapped there's no way to really figure it out without weeks of trial and error. I tried some of the obvious things (So, yeah, I did try locking Cheesy and Dirona in a room with nothing but red bull and prophylactics, but it didn't help her), I've been scouring the english language forums for the game but they aren't much help. It doesn't seem to correlate with sex (or lack thereof) - Cheesy has the same metadata as Dirona pretty much but his self-hate is zero. There doesn't seem to be consistency with personality traits either - You've got it (4), Lord Rendar's got it (4), hell, it'd take less time to catalog the ones that don't have some degree of self hate. I worry that it's just an inherent flaw with the game. The most noticeable thing about it is that self-hate seems to mimic the negative trait - the more you've got the more easily you get depressed, and that incurs a penalty to all dice rolls in social interactions, which makes them fail more, which makes the depression worse.[DOUBLEPOST=1381762254,1381762210][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, why does every seem to hate themselves? This problem started before the murder. I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out why.Perhaps the death of a student made us all do a bit of self-evaluation about our bickering and all of the sleeping around and we realized that we aren't exactly the great people we could be. Of course, give them time and victories and the self-evaluation may be forgotten.
Me too. But as time goes on, it may become a factor.Weird. I hope it doesn't break the game.
Like I said, I needed a project to help me keep busy during a particularly stressful time where I'm left to my own devices often for hours. Gusto's old HfH thread got bumped and I just had a wild idea. For the most part I'm pretty satisfied with how it's turning out, but I think the end of the semester is approaching - probably once everybody's had their "day."Which, thanks for doing this GB! I find it hilarious and quite entertaining.
There are some portions of this that ave inspired me as well! For example, next HFH time, I'm thinking of rolling two households of 6-8 people each and alternating between them every update or so. Kind of gives the forced perspective, makes it so I can't control people half the time, and allows more people in.Me too. But as time goes on, it may become a factor.

Heh, Sims 4 comes out next spring, allegedly... I think it'll have to be pretty darn impressive, eh?
Which is strange, considering that Cheesy actually DOES have the Negative trait. I would figure his self-hate number would be one of the highest. It doesn't seem to correlate with sex (or lack thereof) - Cheesy has the same metadata as Dirona pretty much but his self-hate is zero. . . I love how Raven is like in the background, hanging around, in a lot of the screen shots. You creeper.
This is going to turn into the "special" episode where the shy girl rallies everyone's spirits and is then swiftly forgotten.Stay tuned in about an hour for Day 16: Ashburner X: Witness to Bedlam
Well, I suppose it could always have been badly translated, but all it is supposed to mean is that she responds more positively when she's the one initiating conversations than when someone else is initiating toward her.Maybe the control freak trait is really subtext for Dom?!
Shit, that thought occurred to me weekly while I was still IN high school.[DOUBLEPOST=1381814575][/DOUBLEPOST]Apparently if I was a teenage girl my high school years would have gone WAY smoother.
Well, at a glance, I'd say it's because when you rolled your character's preferences, you left out all the male personalities. Shakey is a heterosexual girl with normal, healthy needs and desires who doesn't particularly like men.The hell is wrong with me...
Yeah, I kinda feel bad for Cheesy. Too much more of this and I might HAVE to mindwipe Dirona - it's getting painful to watch her slow-motion self destruction. But take heart, you've got a support structure in your friends Jay and Tin Whistler, and for some bizarre reason, Justine might be starting to take an interest in you. You're ranked as high as Gusto in her eyes right now, and she's banged him like a screen door in a windstorm. Thing is, you've barely noticed her, so it will take some effort on her part to bring you around.Ouch, real high school all over again.
Holy shit I didn't even notice. Tin Whistler is now toughest on campus. How the hell did that happen?AniFrank lost a fight? FUCK!
Avenge him AniTin!
He was probably being a real whiney bitch about it.Yeah, SimFrank took a huge nosedive in popularity. Dude's best friend is murdered and everyone abandons him.
Huzzah! And all it took was for one of the popular kids to have a mental breakdown and alienate all her friends!OMG!
AniPoe isn't the least popular in class anymore. She's the second least popular!
VIIIIICTOOOORY!
You saw my character sheet. Monster is a given.Huzzah! And all it took was for one of the popular kids to have a mental breakdown and alienate all her friends!
You monster.
I've been secretly taking KarateHoly shit I didn't even notice. Tin Whistler is now toughest on campus. How the hell did that happen?
Cheesy never cheated on Dirona even once. Never even hugged anybody else. Dirona's eye did wander quite a bit though... (but she didn't ever follow through with action). I can't find an explanation either, and I'm starting to think it's just a really unfortunate bug in the game.Oh sad, I don't want self-hate!
Is it relationship related? Being with a guy who constantly cheats (and then pretty much cheating yourself) has to weigh on a girls' mind.
Reminds me of "Code Geass - it's a show about terrorism."Halforums: The Movie
"A lighthearted comedy about mental health and depression."
My favorite part was when that student stabbed the other one mercilessly.Halforums: The Movie
"A lighthearted comedy about mental health and depression."
I've picked up a lot more information on the game while trying to research the self-hate problem. Seems the game will never let you have a class smaller than 3 people no matter what you do - if student 4 kills student 3, it makes you transfer in a new student before you can start the next day.If the academy really starts to head south we should simply transfer in shego, and every time she has to leave she gets transferred in again. Over, and over, and over.
The last remaining student is the winner.
It depends on how much you want to do. You could probably use formulas to code the connections, so each update could be semi-automatically scored. Otherwise, you pick the simplest way to depict the data and stick with that.@MindDetective - this NodeXL stuff is an order of magnitude more complex than I'm used to having to deal with in Excel! It looks interesting, but I think it would take me a dedicated week to get to understand it well enough to do something useful with it, and the data entry will still be heck of a chore, since I'll have to define every edge by hand.
What he said!Trust me, we're loving this. Even those of us who don't post that often.
Originally I had envisioned a simple cloud of vertices with the lengths of the edges being based on the favorability of the relationship (shorter for stronger, longer for worse), but that would require a whole lot of data entry as it would require me to enter data for about 231 edges, unless there's a way I don't see right off the bat to make it pull data from a table.[DOUBLEPOST=1381856328,1381856120][/DOUBLEPOST]It depends on how much you want to do. Oh, heck, if anybody wants a copy (certified virus free) I could probably provide it easier and safer than having to dig through the backalleys of the net, along with the english patch. Just be advised folks, it pretty much requires you to be using Microsoft Applocale to fool it into thinking your computer is Japanese.I'd not played it before you started this, but I've... acquired a copy (complete with stealth trojan horse - nice try! ) and run it through a couple times... Not too shabby, for what was intended to be a porn game.
The length part isn't easy to do. NodeXL gives you a could of display options but I don't know if there is a way to do that, honestly. It seems easier to just make a simple friends network and enemies network like you did (you can do directed graphs too, which means you could make a frenemies graph too). But the strength might have to be displayed with the weight of the edge or something, if possible. It really depends on how fancy you want to get. Maybe just save that for the conclusion of the semester (or year).Originally I had envisioned a simple cloud of vertices with the lengths of the edges being based on the favorability of the relationship (shorter for stronger, longer for worse), but that would require a whole lot of data entry as it would require me to enter data for about 231 edges, unless there's a way I don't see right off the bat to make it pull data from a table.
Huh?O
And Frank, if you want I can zip up the files for all the characters we have so far and host em real easy.
I'll get them boxed up for you when I get home tonight. You know what, I'll bite on that... maybe see how a parallel universe Halforums Gakuen turns out. *grins*
Unless my Negative trait somehow became an STD. (If so, sorry @Dirona !)As Cheesy said, the really perplexing thing is the people who you would think SHOULD be experiencing this (IE, Cheesy, with his negativity subconscious trait) are completely unaffected.
Well at this point, anime me should know.GasBandit said:As they collect themselves, Dei gushes about how masterful Bones is. I shit you not.
A little from column A, a little from column B. They're also in the same club, which REALLY ramps up the level of socializing characters do. If they weren't lovers, I'd say they were certain to be best friends.[DOUBLEPOST=1381901825,1381901729][/DOUBLEPOST]That's an interesting coincidence that Bubble and Shawn Acy got together. Is it because they both came in late to the game, or just their standards just really matched?
Frankly, I nearly fell out of my chair when control-freak anime Dei tried to roleplay innocent victim and then got testy when Bones didn't immediately play along with her fantasy.Well at this point, anime me should know.
It's tough for the withdrawn+introvert kids, they tend not to socialize and the socializations are what get screenshots. However, he's not a bump on a log - he's got a big crush on Klew now and slowly but surely is raising her opinion of him.Man, after the break-up, AnimeFilm seems to have dropped off the map, hasn't he?
Yeah, I probably shouldn't have tried to do it after having a few too many beers...Well, at a glance, I'd say it's because when you rolled your character's preferences, you left out all the male personalities. Shakey is a heterosexual girl with normal, healthy needs and desires who doesn't particularly like men.
I think it's the personality archetype turbocharged by low morals and dirty mindedness. Nearly everything she says is a come on/double entendre.Poor AniPoe, the new guys are already more popular than her.
What is it about her character that keeps her on everyone's shit list? Is it the forceful personality?
Hup, wait, there's one other virtue zealot, and that's Eve Stienman. You haven't got a shot though, LoliStien is designated a penis-free zone.I'm a very good boyfriend.
Am I the only person with the zealot personality trait? I seem to be somewhat decent at cheering people up as well.
Kinda. Klew is the Mysterious Wallflower personality, with sociability set to introvert. However, unlike Eve she doesn't have the "withdrawn" subcon trait.Klew and eve are crushing on each other pretty hard. Haven't looked at klew's traits, though, is she just as shy as eve?
You know how frustrated nerds can get in high school, don't you?Think of that massive power source going untapped....Ok, I don't know what the hell happened at Shawn's house and I'm not sure I want to know, because the game saw fit to award them each credit for 25 sexual encounters, placing Shawn and Bubble firmly at the top of the Nympho list. Dear God, fellas.
Oh, no doubt. But it's definitely a bug. No matter how many "times" it is done in one session, the game is supposed to treat it as one encounter. The 25 thing is clearly in error and I'm still making up my mind whether to correct it or not in the savegame data because it's throwing off the nympho leaderboard. You know how frustrated nerds can get in high school, don't you?Think of that massive power source going untapped....

I'm... not sure how to think about this one. I mean... what? why?He makes his trip to the restroom. Shawn's grumpy enough to consider pissing in the sink.
Because he's... pissed.. off. (When I make comments about somebody being mad or sad, I'm not embellishing. The soundtrack of the game changes to clue me in to how people around the person I'm controlling feel - and when nobody's close, how my puppet feels. At that moment, it let me know you were really mad).I'm... not sure how to think about this one. I mean... what? why?
Not to twist the knife, but Dirona did the dumping. You ungrateful, slimy, skeeving horndog! You'd be nowhere without me! NOWHERE!! *runs off screaming obscenities*

Indeed, and more often girls than not. I don't think there's anything I can do to adjust that, either. Hell, I can't even really say whether he's picking the fights or just defending himself.AniFrank there really has some issues. Always hitting on people (literally).
I bet that bedroom at the end of the day is absolutely WRECKED.He's just mad because I beat Justine up and he couldn't. Now he's all "See? I do too hit harder than a girl."
Well, apart from 'girls just wanna have fun' this one may also be a theme song for her.but I am pretty sure I saw Justine Me blowing Cheesy One between the lockers. She's so freaky.

Anger? Hate? A Class Rep needs not these things. In fact the only student still untouched by self-hate is Ashburner X, though for most it isn't at problem levels yet.
Heh, thanks. There were a couple in there I debated whether the joke would be too obscure, or if it really fit the picture. But really these days, when I get an idea of how to do it, theme naming the pictures is half the fun of the exercise. One big Thumbs-Up for the file names on this one especially! That theme through the whole day is outstanding!
I also was only waiting for a Joe Cock er ( ) pun.Heh, thanks. There were a couple in there I debated whether the joke would be too obscure, or if it really fit the picture. But really these days, when I get an idea of how to do it, theme naming the pictures is half the fun of the exercise.
I was trying to stick to 80s groups as much as possible for this one, though I made an exception for Brownsville Station because I didn't think the joke would come across if I used Motley Crue. Joe's more of a 60s phenomenon I think.I also was only waiting for a Joe Cock er ( ) pun.
A wife?! *slaps Shawn in handcuffs* Really, can't leave you alone one second, can I?I'm starting to think that my wife might be controlling Bubble's character.
It seems to me that most everybody in this game seems to guard their declared lover like a mother hen. I think the only reason Justine got away with it for so long was that Jay had to try to keep tabs on two very outgoing girls at once, so obviously Justine found time during the lapses in surveillance to go bang Gusto a few times. But even that came to an end eventually.A wife?! *slaps Shawn in handcuffs* Really, can't leave you alone one second, can I?
Y'know, I don't recall taking "jealous" as a character trait. Is it the Dirty Mind that makes me think everyone hugging Shawn's about to grope him, and Irritable causing me to overreact? Or is it just telepathy with the real life version seeping in?
Is this a reference to something that I'm not aware of?Here's the outcome of that malevolent little notion that I'm considering for Semester 2:
