On the way into school, Film happens across Gusto at the front gates.
They strike up a conversation about school and sports, and seem to be getting along pretty well.
Moving inside, he sees one of the girls in the hallway, Raven. But she can't be bothered to give him the time of day.
Lana Karron also isn't particularly interested in talking to him.
Klew sees he's having difficulty and it's getting him upset. She comes over and consoles him. They chat over many subjects easily, and of course the conversation turns to Raven, with whom Klew obviously is enamored.
Heading into the classroom, he and Tinwhistler chew the fat. Tin's not that interested in talking about classes, but is more receptive about sports.
Film spots Bhamv, and remembers she's one slot higher than him on the class's scholastic rankings. Seeing an opportunity, he chats her up and soon asks her to go over the homework with him.
She agrees, and it's off to the library.
When they arrive, Frank and Dei are already there.
The study session goes well. Film's feeling pretty good about how things are going this morning. Until he tries to talk to Dei.
Dei's not interested in discussing much. How's it going? Nah. Schoolwork? Nope. Athletics? Yawn. But she starts becoming more interested when talk turns to matters of the heart.
Cheesy and Dirona meet in the library. Intriguing. When Dirona finally leaves, Film tries to talk to Cheesy, but Cheesy can't seem to overcome his shyness and the conversation falters.
The bell rings, and it's off to morning classes. FF spends the time thinking about the compatibility of his schoolmates, trying to deduce more about where he might fit in. Next thing he knows, he's fallen asleep. The lunch bell awakens him. Checking around for who wants to eat, he heads to the roof with Bhamv, Klew and Frank. FF really enjoys eating with them.
Frank's not much interested in talking about himself, but when the conversation turns to sports, he starts pitching in more.
Raven and Klew are seen eating together on the roof. Gusto is seen chatting with Mind Detective.
On the way to the bathroom, FF has a genial conversation with Bhamv in the hallway.
Various students chat with each other in the breezeway.
FF Sees Terrik and Frank running off toward the Gymnasium. He tries to follow, but isn't as fast as they are. By the time he catches up, there's nobody in the gym. That's odd, he wasn't THAT far behind, and aside from the volleyball clubrooms and the storage room, there's no other exits.
FF wanders for a while and ends up back on the roof. More students are there eating, but Dei is just arriving alone.
A girl eating alone? That will never do! He asks her if she wants to eat with him, and she is agreeable. FF has himself a second lunch, and the two really seem to click well together.
Frank happens over to join in the conversation. It's clear Frank and Film are well on their way to becoming fast compatriots.
Afternoon classes pass unremarkably. At the end of the session, Frank strikes up a conversation with FF, letting the tough guy shell slide a little bit, and he starts talking about love. But before FF can answer, Dirona jumps in. "Hey, what are you two talking about, eh?" Frank suddenly clams up.
Film sees Lord Rendar. They're on the tennis team together, so Film asks him if he wants to go practice together.
But LR, it seems, would rather hang back and talk to Klew for a while first. Shakey, though, is up for it! They head off to the tennis court, and warm up.
It goes well. Then, when Lord Rendar shows up, he joins in. Tennis practice proceeds excellently. They'll be in the finals for sure.
Changing in the boy's locker room after practice, Lord Rendar wants to know more about Eve Steinman. Raven shows up to meet Klew as she comes out of the Girl's tennis room.
A minute later, LittleKagsin shows up and interrupts them, talking to Raven. That's odd, they're not exactly on friendly terms.
Kags leaves, and Rendar and FF head over to see what's going on. But Frank shows up and starts talking to FF, leaving Lord Rendar to talk to the girls on his own.
Frank and FF suddenly hear a commotion over there, some sort of confrontation is happening between Raven, Klew and Lord Rendar! Rendar The aftermath leaves Rendar retreating from the pitch, and the atmosphere turns awkward.
FF takes off after Lord Rendar, and finds him in quite a state.
A few slaps on the back and some macho words, and Rendar's feeling better. Satisfied with the result, FF decides to see if he can go find Dei.. but she's already left for the day. So Film Fanatic decides to go home too. At the gate, he exchanges pleasantries with Ashburner. She's very congenial.
END OF DAY 4:
Epilogue: Somebody confessed love to Lana Karron. Rumor is it's Jay, but there hasn't been a breakup with Kags... Whoever it was, Lana's decided to stay single. And whatever all the unpleasantness was, Raven's popularity has taken a huge dive.
