So, I was starting to get miffed that @Sparhawk 's gift hadn't shipped yet, so I contacted the website I ordered from, and they said that the order got lost.... ugh. They are sending it 3 day shipping, so hopefully, you will have it soon.

PICS @Shakey! I refuse to accept that you have a life!
I don't! I wanted to take a pic of them in use, but today got sucky when someone got fired and I had to deal with that.

ANYWAYS! Here we go.
I got a box!

I learned from last year when I just blocked off my name/address and people looked up the city the UPS truck comes out of. You guys are creepy.

What could be inside? A new mug! It has a color changing fuel gauge. :p People at work have been giving me crap about using styrofoam cups, so I'm bringing it to work.

And shark socks! I wore them to work today and had an incredible urge to start pushing for a union...

Action shot at work!

Thanks again @Cajungal. :)

YAY you're welcome! I saw those socks and couldn't resist getting them too! I know there's probably already a warning on the box, but DO NOT put that mug in the dishwasher! My friend had one and he ruined it that way.

Aaaand it's my turn. I opened a package really quick because I thought it was something I'd ordered... so no box pics...

It's two really awesome-looking cookbooks! I'm leafing through the no recipe cookbook as we speak. It's full of really helpful info and guidelines. What's good about it is I think it could also come in handy at school if I ever do another cooking enrichment class. And I am always up for new delicious vegetarian recipes!

Oh my God there's a whole section on savory pies.... yeeeeesssssss...

Thanks so much Patrick.... whoever you are! (I left your last name hidden; wasn't sure if you wanted it shown). I can't wait to try some new things. :)

You are welcome! You made it difficult by not including your phone number.
(Note to future secret Santa recipients...no phone number means Amazon won't let the order process complete)

I know it says "A Beginner's Guide," but what they mean is that it teaches you how to cook, and not merely how to follow a recipe. Go right to page 5 and you'll see why I thought it was right for you.

What? Did they leave off the Haiku? Aww. If you didn't see them, I believe I call out the fact that they have recipes for savory pancakes, too. And if the idea of cheddar pancakes with chive butter doesn't tantalize...then I can't help you.
Also I will make some and then eat them all myself.

I'll have to check the card again... Jake jumped me shortly after I made that post.

So I just got home from a freaking long day, a longer than necessary choir practice, I haven't had dinner, I'm tired and I'm cranky. Bah humbug. Well, I guess I should check the mail...

Oooh, what's this then? An Amazon box with my professional title on it... I don't order using that title...

That must mean... my Halforums Secret Santa gift has arrived!!! :aaah:

I continue to be impressed with Amazon's gift wrapping. Very lovely.

But what could it be? It's far to thin to be a book, and it's not the right size for a calendar...
IMAG0128.jpg

It's GLORIOUS! And there's so many outfits to choose from! :D
IMAG0129.jpg

I love it! And it's already proudly displayed.

Thank you so so much Covar! A fantastic gift, and it certainly brought a smile to my face and will continue to do so.

I literally jumped out of bed and ran to the window, only to see her drive away already. I swear it wasn't 10 seconds between ringing and leaving. I assume it isn't something that'll suffocate in the packaging :p

Welllll.... Yeah, it'll be okay, I think I ordered plenty of food for it. ;)

My order has (FINALLY) been placed - due to bill limitations that appeared out of nowhere, it was delayed, and is still somewhat of a small one. There will be a secondary follow-up gift to follow, as soon as I can get it into an envelope and on the way.

Hopefully a non-issue, but I apologize for the delay - I got the most expedited shipping I could slap on it.

@Hylian Tracking on your package says it is on schedule to arrive on Monday, December 16th

I haven't checked my list to see who has sent theirs yet, but will be doing so this week.

If you haven't sent your gift yet, please PM me with an explanation or ETA!

Thanks phil! Not a huge RPG fan, but I'll find a good use for the steam code. XOXOXO

Apologies for the picture size/quality...My camera decided sand in the lens was a great way to die (safari in Kenya? No problem! Day out to the beach with my niece? Oops), so webcam of my girlfriend's cheapo laptop it is.

Anyway, thanks Jeff from Texas! I'll admit, despite being a European SciFi loving bastard, that I've never actually read/seen much of Doctor Who. On the other hand, 2 years ago (?) someone sent me 2 James Bond movies, I hadn't seen any of those yet either, and soon after, I bought the full DVD collection. I hope I won't suddenly find myself buying anything and everything Who-related, as I don't have the cash :p
I'm looking forward to reading them, really - I've long been thinking I should get into the Doctor more, and the writers, at the very least, sound like a who's who from my library :-D

Picked it because you said you liked sci-fi and it was from a variety of authors about all the different Doctors. Hope you enjoy it, I wanted it wrapped, but like I said, Amazon.fr was being a real pain to deal with. I really do enjoy trying to find something that people will enjoy.

I may have received my 3rd gift. Will open it tonight and take pics and contribute to this thread.

I was in doubt between you and Hylian for being my SS :p

And I like it, I do! I've read a lot about Who, and I've seen lots of shorts/documentaries, and it's often discussed around here and on my facebook wall. I never got around to it, not because I think I won't like it or anything, but simply because of "too many things to do, too litle time to do them in" syndrome. Same reason I love RPGs, I love SciFi, and yet I haven't played any of the Mass Effect series. I'll get around to it, I say, and before you know it, 10 years have gone by and it isn't worth it anymore (in the case of ME, the Doctor keeps on going :p).
I can't say I'll suddenly become a huge Who-nut, but it's definitely in the "something that could/would interest me" category, as well as the "something I wouldn't really go and buy for myself" category. Which are the most surprising, and often the best, gifts.
Compare-and-contrast to, say, a Doctor Who-themed bathrobe or refrigerator magnets. Those might be great if I already was a fan, but not as an introduction. This is, at best, an introduction into A Whole New World (tm Disney), or, at worst, an interesting addition to my library and a glimpse into somethnig i'm not into but gave a shot. No matter what, it's at least good, if not great, as a gift, so I'm happy about it.
I'm not in a terribly great mood today, which may reflect negatively on my first post - but I assure you that has nothing to do with being given a lesser gift. Au contraire.

(the 50+minute waiting line in the Post Office? yeah, that might have something to do with it :p)
