Holy Christ, a new Kevin Smith Film!

No thanks. I've been done with Kevin Smith and his constant pandering to his stoner audience for awhile. There's a good writer in him somewhere, and we've seen glimpses of it here and there, but he's too busy making poop and dick jokes.

So he's turning that dumb conversation he and Scott Mosier had on a Smodcast about having to box a giant Jesus into a movie.

Smoke some more weed Kev, you'll eventually have another good idea.

While I'm still a fan of his lowbrow form of entertainment. Kevin Smith does some of his best work as an actual artist the further he moves away from Jay and Silent Bob.

Chasing Amy, Red State, and Dogma are nothing short of brilliant, IMO.

I've gone to from being a huge Kevin Smith fan to more of a casual observer. I feel like Clerks 2 really burst the bubble for me. I was just so disappointed by it. Zack and Miri had it's moments, and I thought JaSBSB was more good than bad, but not by a lot. I feel like the last film where he was really firing on all cylinders, both with the great dialogue and creative ideas, was Dogma, which remains one of my favorite movies. I also admit I haven't had a chance to see Red State yet, so I don't know how he does with the horror genre. Maybe I'm just bias, but it feels like the signature Smith dialogue, which is really why people loved his movies, diminished once he moved out to California.

Didn't he have a hockey comedy coming out called "Hit Something"? I feel like I'm really out of the loop.

Hit Something never did end up happening. I'm not sure if anything is going to be done with the idea, but another film had come out called Goon that was very similar to Kevin's idea.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Dogma was the last good KS movie. He's never had a great one. I don't care what you say about Clerks or any of the others. He's an okay writer, but a lame director who keeps putting his stupid friends in movies. I'd be more than happy to be his pal and mooch though.

I liked Dogma. Clerks and Mallrats were fun when I was in high school, and even though they don't really age all that well, you can still demand "THIRTY SEVEN?!" in an incredulous voice and people will laugh because they know what you are referencing.

At least I wasn't thirty six.

Dogma is a great movie even if Jay grates on my fucking nerves after a minute or two.

In a row?

I had to google that.

What, the curtains?

He talks about Book of Mormon being the inspiration for it becoming a stage show. I don't know if Kevin Smith has the same shit Trey Parker and Matt Stone have when it comes to projects like that. Those guys are like two of the hardest working people (in show biz) alive.

Yeah, yeah :p.... I just wanted to clarify. We switched gears from Smith to Python out of nowhere. It was like the Spanish Inquisition.

"That's the joke."
I texted a friend, out of the blue, "My hovercraft is full of eels."
I let him stew on it for almost an hour, because he said it was totally random...except...he knew he had heard it somewhere before, and this puzzled him.

Honestly, I haven't been interested in a Kevin Smith project since I mistakenly watched an episode of Comic Book Men.
