Looks to be great here: nice weather, works almost done, get a nice weekend to look forward to. Yourselves?

Only 3 1/2 more hours of work left and then... time to mow the lawn. *sigh*

Our water's getting shut off for the weekend due to the reservoir's water being too muddy, thanks to the mudslides Typhoon Morakot decided to inflict on us. We're probably going to end up finding the bodies of hundreds of villagers who were buried alive in the mountainous regions of Taiwan over the course of the weekend, and almost certainly into next week. Roads are washed out, bridges are broken, supplies are running low for trapped survivors, and we're having trouble airlifting them out because the weather hasn't fully cleared up yet.

So, on the whole, I don't really care how my Friday or my weekend is. My people are about to suffer one of the worst weekends in recent memory.

I was having a good friday UNTIL the whole thing about the doctor against dougnuts thread. Now Im seething with rage.

Other then that...Its a pretty good friday. :pirate:

Weather 103+ Tempuratures for the last 2 months straight, no rain, nothing lower. :eek:rly:

Work Stuck here till 6:30pm and I work Saturday.

Weekend Only really have Sunday off, so not sure if I can call that a "weekend to look foward to".

So I'm going with the tried and true: "FUCK YOU FRIDAY"

You forgot to carry the two.

I appreciate that. Thank you.

Got off work early, hit the pool, then smoked some hookah with a friend who's birthday is today... will watch a movie or something then go to sleep, coz i'm tired as hell, as i always am friday ever since i started working... i was not made to get up before 11 am dammit...

My prayers as well bhamv. Do you know a good organization to donate to to help your people? Is the red cross going to be there or is there a better group?

As to my Friday: Stuck at work for the next few hours, getting our website and menu's etc done. Then I get to spend the next 9 days off from my main job and getting my prep done for school this fall. These kids aren't gonna know what hit 'em.

It's going okay for me today. Not half as depressed as yesterday. Just chillin' and writing a new novel and listening to mc chris.

The biggest and best non-governmental charity organization in Taiwan is the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation, http://www.tzuchi.org/ They have donations set up on their website. I was a member if Tzu Chi for several years, a while back, and watching the news now makes me want to pull my uniform back on, climb up the mountain, and start digging with my bare hands.

Though, while donations will undoubtedly be appreciated and put to good use, it's mainly an issue of logistics and manpower now. Without roads, there's no way to efficiently get supplies in and people out. Without clear weather, helicopters can't fly in to drop supplies or airlift survivors. We've already had one helicopter crash, killing the crew inside. Soldiers have been deployed for manpower, and they've been climbing the mountains with food and water strapped to their backs, but there's only so much they can do, especially considering how many roads and bridges are washed out and weather conditions are still haphazard.

Anyway, your prayers and best wishes are very much appreciated, but I don't really want to hijack this thread and turn this into a Taiwan-baww thread. It just sucks sitting here watching this stuff unfold, knowing there's mostly nothing I can do to help.

Holy shit! Bhamv, I hope that you and your family is safe and that you find all of your loved ones well and hale. I really wish there was something I could do to help you out.

Take care bhamv. I'll pray for you all. I don't have any cash to float that way.

My friday could be better, but I painted myself into a corner at work, and so I need to figure out how to get out.

Wait for paint to dry. Leave.

Waiting for the Internet guy and watching the dark knight. At the scene where dent is being transported in the convoy.

Got some good news yesterday at the advising office. If everything kind of falls into place and I can test out of Spanish 3 and 4 I can graduate in December. Not going to get my hopes up though.

Now I just need to get some steady income.

My assistant is away on vacation so I'm doing a bunch of mindless drudgery work. Two other managers are away so I'm doing a bunch of their drudgery too. That said, I completed a 5 month project this week successfully, slightly over budget and over schedule, but it's completed.

Looking at my Human Resources Management assignment and giving it the finger. Only one assignment left in the course and I just can't be bothered to write another 2000 words on the effects of health and safety legislation on employee/employer relationships.

Pouring rain outside, just had lunch with the wife who leaves on Monday for a week for work.

Altogether, a nice quiet mindless Friday.

Very well, thanks. I'm having a delicious turkey sandwich for lunch with some mini kosher dill pickles. I bought a dress today--one i can just wear... anytime... not just for an occasion. It was weird. I feel out of place in it, but also pretty. It's a black and white plaid shirtdress with a big chunky belt. So how about that?

I'm watching Calleja spam the ever-livin' fuck out of my twitter feed with Beatles lyrics translated to Spanish.

Give it a rest, dude! You're gonna get yourself reported for spam if you don't slow it down.

Yeah I've just started calling twitter Calleja's blog. That's all I ever see... well, that and Eddie Izzard's trek across the UK.

My wife decided today that we need a new television since our newest one is about sixteen years old. She wants a big, flat screen HDTV, and when she saw that the weren't as much as she expected, she's thinking about two of them - one smallish one (37 inches or so) for the living room, and then a really big one for the bedroom wall. The thing is, I watch so little television right now that I'm having a hard time caring.

I...I think I may be dead inside.
