Krisken's art stuff, previously all 40k miniatures

You think that's good, wait till the next one! With the bottom half attached and just placing the legs in place, it's really starting to come together.

I hope it looks better when it is painted!

Thanks Ashburner. I spent a lot of time this week trying to get this one almost spot on, and I think it looks pretty good myself.

I got the first coat of spray paint on it. Tomorrow if it doesn't rain I'll take it out and do a light dusting of the lighter greens and tan I use to take some of the dark green out of the coloring. Oh, and of course take pics.

That looks awesome. Reminds me of one of the perils of showing works-in-progress: IT LOOKS SO GOOD DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING YOU'LL RUIN IT :p

Well, I used 3 different sprays to prime it. I started with a dark green, moved on to a light green as a dusting, then went a little heavier dusting with a cream colored spray. I still get the dark green underneath, but the overall color of the model is brighter due to the cream and light green sprays. Now I can highlight the model with dark greens and highlight that with a bright green without losing detail.

Well, I got the trim painted and added the iron for the rusting effect up at Scratchbuilt 40k. I also included an image of the painting station I built to hold the paints. I think it's kinda neat :D

It does, doesn't it? Though I have to admit I would have a hard time finding a spice rack to hold over 144 paint tubes.

I've always wondered... do these field pieces (like the wire) have any effect on units by/near them? As in, are there rules for them?

That would be a yummy battle piece, Jiarn!

Ash, the razor wire field would most likely be counted as dangerous terrain, which requires models moving through to make a test by rolling a 6 sided dice (each). Any 1's and the model takes a wound, normal saves apply. Terrain tends to have some important effects on the game.

Just a slight case of burn-out/FF12 addiction. Still playing but collected just about everything possible so not much left to do on it. Plus painting a house, starting a new job, and 3 weddings to attend (and 1 bachelor party) left me with little time for anything else.

I'll take breaks from time to time, but gosh darn it I'll always jump back on the horse!

Haha, cute! I think not, though. Those are yellow with red trim and cuss words and frowns all over 'em. I have my lion theme rip roaring and ready to go (the Space Marine Tac squads already shipped!)

I based these colors off of The Lion Clan from Legends of the Five Rings.

Yes, but the shoulder pads are both going to be the lion heads, so I was worried a arm would look silly. Maybe I'll make the helmet red (which is another traditional way to signify rank).

@Ashburner: It really depends on which chapter you go with... each has their own particular method of signifying rank... Ultimately, the Captain is the man with the most fiddly bits on his armor (Unless you're fielding a Chapter Master, in which case...)
