That is pretty absurd. Although I do always find that kind of thing really sad. Animals made to perform for people. That's why I prefer animal free circuses.

The only reason anybody puts up with these ponderous idiots is because they occasionally get hot chicks to stand naked on street corners.

Actually peta has spoken out against having pets in general so they would love to sue for that.

Oh, and I forgot this part too - PETA has intentionally killed about 23,000 animals since 1998, making their shelters some of the deadliest in the nation.

Of course. Once an animal is domesticated, it cannot live apart from humans, and therefore is better off dead than dependent (ie, slave) to humans. According to them, that is. There's no such thing as a companionship animal.

Peta is extreme.

My favorite part is how one of the heads of Peta is a diabetic and takes insulin.

In fairness to PETA they have done some really good stuff (like busting up really nasty animal testing facilities), but....the stuff they are known for is all pretty stupid.

Also I wonder if it bothers any of them that Temple Grandin did more for animal welfare than they'll ever accomplish.

Edit: actually....I guess it doesn't. They gave her an award and there are a bunch of interviews out there where PETA is praising her work.

PETA annoys me because I agree with them up to a point on a lot of issues but then they go way the hell beyond that point out into bizarro land. Darn them.
