If this happens, I hope there's a flashback in which Kurt Russell's character tries to pass himself off as a truck driver on his way to San Francisco. It would fit the franchise's humor quite well. Also, Peter Quill is old enough to have watched that movie before his abduction.

Nah, it's Stan Lee's idea, at the time, of how a rich playboy should look...
Not likely, the Marvel artists at the time maybe, but Doctor Strange is almost completely a Steve Ditko creation. Stan may have done some dialogue for it, but Ditko brought him completed pencils for the first story.

This isn't Batman Vs Superman, they don't need to blow the entire load in the teaser material.
They've also announced some new cast additions for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. They include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Crhis Sullivan, and Kurt Russell.
To be fair they haven't even started filming yet, so this is just Gunn giving people a little taste before pulling the hook back out of the water for awhile.
