Guess who didn't get paid like they were supposed to today? Bank says it'll be a few hours. Better be. I'm taking a 1/2 day to pay bills and license my cars. If no paycheck...

I feel your pain, man. The past two big projects I've worked on have had issues sending paychecks out in a timely manner. I'm telling you, it's really hard to keep a budget when you don't get your paycheck for almost two months after the job is over.

Also, catching up on the drama from last night made me late for my robe and cowl fitting today. Damn it.

I can't get my tv to work since I changed it for houseguest. It should work everything seems to be set up right, not sure what is wrong.

Very annoying.

It's almost like it has a virus. Now it is very weiiiird.

It's okay. Most new superheros prefer to patrol after dark.

But that's when my Persian cat wants to plaaaaay.

Ok, serious minor rant. I really hate not having any notice from my property manager that people have to come into my apartment to do renovations. This time, it's installing a new gas line in the kitchen. It's the same group of workers every time and they always tear up my kitchen and never put anything back at the end of the day, not to mention getting my walls and doorjambs covered in greasy handprints. It might be one thing if I was staying here long enough to look forward to living in a newly-renovated apartment but since I am leaving at the end of July it is just aggravating.

My friend did designs for a phone app, the job finished in December and she didn't get paid until April, and even then only for about half of it (She wasn't supposed to be getting a lump sum at the end of the project either, it was supposed to be a biweekly pay cheque I believe). Note that April is also when taxes are due for the preceding year.

Twice I did contract development work for a year where the checks just stopped coming after about 9 months. Never did get the money, either. First time I completed the project on good faith, second time I just stopped doing work.

I look back and this sort of thing is one reason that unions can be so helpful for the workers. I am convinced I would not have gotten paid what I was owed on the film I did earlier this year if I didn't have the union fighting for me. I'm not even an actual member but because I was doing a job that is normally filled by a union member, they made sure I got what I was owed.

Lawyers have trouble getting paid also. Most of the time our customers stiff us.

As much of a reputation as unions like the Teamsters have, I would be very afraid of what a lawyer union could do to people who cross them.

Yay! Got paid finally. Apparently the bank had an abnormal amount of EFT transfers to make. So now my vehicles are licensed.
