With less fanfare than the Switch Lite, Nintendo will have an upgraded revision of the Switch with better battery life. Like, 40 - 80% better battery life.

It's been 2 years since the Switch came out, and it's running a Tegra chipset. I don't think it's bullshit that chip technology has advanced in two years. It would probably cost Nintendo more to not improve battery life with a hardware revision.
I believe that Nintendo does what they need to ensure that we need to upgrade our consoles often. I would too in their place!
I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner like with the 3DS.
I mean, this isn't a real Nintendo account, so... Ymmv

The latest Smash Bros DLC rumor is that the next fighter after Banjo-Kazooie is going to be an SNK character.
Most of the internet thinks it'll be Terry Bogard or Mai Shiranui, but I'd personally like to see Marco from Metal Slug.

I wanted Marco from Metal Slug as an SNK rep, but Terry is fine. I'm just happy they confirmed more DLC fighters for Smash. More chances for some characters I'd like to see make it.
My spouse really wants a Switch. Mostly for the new Animal Crossing game coming out, but also for Luigi's Mansion and a few others. I wouldn't mind having it so I could get Smash and Mario Kart 8. I might be looking at getting one for Christmas, hopefully some stores will have it on sale for Black Friday or something. Any other big games I should think about getting?
Co-op games and light adventure games would be good for the spouse.
My tastes are all over, but I like good story-driven games (Adventure & RPGs, though not JRPGs) and action games mostly.

I can't believe you like adventure/RPGs, but you don't have Breath of the Wild on your wishlist. It's a must!
Probably not, or at least not right away.
It wouldn't be fair anyway if you're limited to 30fps but fighting against people with 240Hz monitors.

It's not like the existing console version is cross compatible either.
Maddening Difficulty came out for Fire Emblem last night. If you play without new game+ you get a special change to the title screen so I am being a masochist. So far I had to sacrifice 3/5 students to win the mock battle and it took me 23 rounds to beat the chapter 2 mission, so I guess it's a little harder. 
One of our kids is an Animal Crossing fan. Are there any similar style games for the Switch?
Switch Animal Crossing is coming out in March.

I'm liking it. I also dont give a damn about national dex, exp share, etc. I'm all about new designs and fighting monsters with elemental weaknesses. Plus i just bought my avatar a cute pink hoodie.
