Also, I'm assuming not in this barren wasteland of a hell hole, but can we do any shoppin'z soon? I has a t'ousand gold dat needs a new home. And then I take things from that home.
1) I'm wanting to get a little extree cash, and I don't really need my Power Jewel [Regain an encounter power of 1st or 3rd level after having reached at least one milestone today], so if somebody wants it I could part with it for the price of a level one magic item-- 360 gp. It's a 1,000 gp item.
2) I wanna sell the Instant Campsite since Errik can do it. So when I get a chance, I'm gonna try to buy the ritual for 50 gp and sell the campsite for 200 gp and keep the 150. Assuming that's cool with peeps.

Up to you. Certainly we got on well without it before, and I never like to turn down more rituals, but I usually end up casting my free daily ritual on something a little more useful, warding undead or searching for rumours, etc.
That said, the component cost of Create Campsite is only 15g, which is 2.5g from each of us for a hidden instant campsite that uses my Nature check to be concealed from outside perception checks... Yeah, I'd be down for this kinda trade in.
Saryon could make use of that power gemstone. I'll contemplate about it this afternoon after I get back from the client.
With LVL8, I have decided to retrain Saryon some more as I thought he grew a little stale. And with that, he's now multiclassesed Shaman and I think this is pretty neat with his background along with his LVL 8 feat. I should send the character sheet your way a little bit later on tonight but once again, please note that I may or may not be late due to the work ethic of governmental employees.
Lastly, for the trinket. I’m still perusing the market for it. There have been some really cool items for Saryon but they are LVL 9 L. LVL 8 has limited choices and LVL 7 has some solid choices. Shop shop shop, till you drop. Been busy with my game, along with getting a whole lot of shit done before Friday night due to vacation, sorry I’m backlogged.

That makes no economic sense. Just buy the ritual and use it when you want concealment, otherwise you are paying 15GP a night to camp instead of doing it for free, all for a possible 150GP gain.
Ah power gems!

As we were following Gaspar's ring to the Valley of Contentment, walking up mountain ranges and through a particularly rough blizzard, Adia heard faint sounds of circus music echoing from on of the caves. Immediately recognizing it's probable source with a groan, we decided that even facing Euric again was probably better than falling off a mountain during a blizzard so we headed for the caves. There we found a man who appeared to be dressed similarly to Euric, and even look like him from behind, but upon facing us we realized he was a more shadowy and twisted-looking version. He introduced himself as Nicodemus and said he had a new job for us. When asked, he said that Euric wasn't going to be dealing with us directly for a while, that "the Masters" were punishing him for acting out. Prying further, we found out that this multidimensional organization has been sending us to pocket dimensions in order to get us to "right wrongs", for reasons unknown. They felt they had the right to do so, since they "owned" all the elves of the Yuir'wood and the Darkahn (sp?), apparently including Adia and Gaspar.
Obviously, Adia refused to submit to this guy's will that we go with him based on the idea that he owns her, and the group said that we had to stick together in order to achieve our goal. Nicodemus rolled his eyes and said in a condescending tone that he knew all about our quest with "some lich", and then basically started trash-talking our so-called "heroic group" by revealing long-held secrets and/or backstory, including the following:
- A thief who would completely destroy a man's shop for trinkets;
- A man who would call himself reformed but deals only in destruction;
- A woman with a dark side who is quick to anger;
- One who is too dumb to even insult;
- Two who are starting to discover romantic feelings for each other (pointing at Errik and Adia); and the very best one of all
- (pointing at Saryon), A man who would deceive a mentally-unbalanced companion of his into making her think her horse could talk.
(Turns out Saryon, waaaaay back in Stullenpike or Bridgeport, took the opportunity to buy a scroll that summoned a tiny air elemental that would speak while manipulating Fabio's mouth, giving the impression that the horse was talking. Jay and Shawn had worked this out behind the scenes for almost a year, without anyone figuring it out. All that stuff about branding him to make him talk, him being a prince who was cursed by a gypsy hag, all that? False. Just a horse.)
Needless to say, when Nicodemus left us, it was tense in the cave. Many did not talk at all, Adia threw lightning at Saryon until he apologized, Errik scolded Serin for stealing saying that it leads only down a dark path, and Adia and Errik tried to avoid eye contact as much as possible after that. This made the next week or so of travelling through the mountains pretty awkward.
(Someone else summarize the valley portion, I'm done typing for a while. )
No. But I'll probably level you guys again once you get through this current story arc or at least spend a good amount of time doing it.
Quick Summary: Euric apparently has a replacement who goes by the name of Nicodemus. He's a lot less charismatic than Euric and seems to be quite moody. When the group declined his "invitation" to return to the Dread Realms he pretty much resorted to petty insults and revealing the faults of the group's party members. He revealed Serin's theft and destruction of the magic shop, and also that Saryon was behind Fabio's ability to talk the entire time. Obviously this caused Adia to go ballistic, and Saryon had to hold his own against some lightning bolts for a while. Nicodemus told Adia that all she had to do was something sadistically evil to give his masters another opportunity to drag her back, and announced that they would be keeping her older brother's soul hostage until she did so.
A week later the party came across a pilgrimage of Raven Queen whorshipers who were taking the remains of one of their long dead champions to be buried (better late than never). The carts were attacked and the body was taken. The party dealt with the remaining attackers and have agreed to track down the body because it may be a key to an ancient Raven Queen pact.
(And to be fair, I never planned to destroy the shop. ;P)
Well, some RP then: Serin will definitely start feeling guilty about it, having barely given it a second thought before, now thinking about how it probably ruined that guy's livelihood, or at least made it a very bad week. Furthermore, she's starting to contemplate how her actions are helping find Changelings a better place in the world at all-- and unfortunately-- they're not.
Plus the encounter was awesome. I don't think anyone outright missed with any attacks. Maybe a couple people here or there, during area attacks tat targeted 4-7 of em.
So it sounds like this upcoming week we'll have three folks missing. Deschain, Jay, and quite likely Gusto. With three people missing I think it would be best to postpone the game a week and we'll do mine again on the 29th.
I'd also like to note that my parents will be in town on the 6th and I'll be unable to play or DM.
All right, now that everyone's done screwing around on Thursday night, we can get back to chasing after the coffin...
I'm starting to question the necessity of us tracking down the coffin though. If we'd not been there, it would've been taken anyway, so it's not our fault. And the only one who swore to get it back was Saryon, so he's the only one who might bear any consequences for not getting it.
The woman leading the caravan didn't blame you. She owes you quite a bit for keeping those alive that you did. But she was generally in panicked concern over the theft. And not in a "Oh I'm gonna get it" sort of way, but more a "I don't know what's going to happen but it's not going to be good for me, you, or anyone." kind of way.
As Saryon is a religion specialist, a simple religion roll for him would indicate that he definitely feels some kind of presence that appears the moment he made the oath. Though determining the actual function of it (as in what it would do) is beyond his grasp.
