Oh, wait.

Yeah, that shows waiting (though could also be checking the time), but not waiting for something to suddenly appear. Big difference. The second panel, like I said before, doesn't really look like that to me. Sorry to offend you by not getting the joke.HowDroll said:Perhaps like Gabe standing there, looking at his watch?fade said:Maybe something indicating that he's waiting for the plane, which suddenly appears.

I think you are overanalysing it because you didnt get the comic.fade said:There's just no connection between the panels for the uninitiated. Maybe something indicating that he's waiting for the plane, which suddenly appears. I know now that those little lines are indicating a sudden appearance, but I would've gotten it if there was an SFX or something. I thought they were speed lines. It looked to me like the plane was moving and the other guy was hanging onto the side of it as it moved. I couldn't even tell that was the plane crashing. Maybe if the tail was sticking out of the fireball or something. I would've gotten it right away then.
Yes, I was. I was just trying to explain how in my opinion they could've opened it up for people who hadn't played the game, that's all. I didn't even mean it as a serious critique, just more of a shoulder-shrugging, "Eh, I guess he could've done this, but whatever".JCM said:I think you are overanalysing it because you didnt get the comic.fade said:There's just no connection between the panels for the uninitiated. Everyone else got it, and the 4 Battlefield gamers at my house didnt have any problem understanding it. Anyway, its a comic for gamers, and theres an accompanying new story for hose who dont know the game,
I wouldnt read a comic for physics teachers or skateboarders, because I know I wouldnt get it.
i feel any more would have brought it into a "you had to be there" type situation...and as the ding reboot proved those suck donkey balls. this works for anyone who has ever played a battlefield/battlefront game, like me, who loved it.fade said:Yes, I was. This I think is the main reason why they set it up the way they did. Any more additions wouldn't have made the joke any funnier for people who never played or heard of Battlefield where as anybody who has played battlefield can identify the situation immediately with nothing more than any 2 of the panels.wana10 said:i feel any more would have brought it into a "you had to be there" type situation...and as the ding reboot proved those suck donkey balls. this works for anyone who has ever played a battlefield/battlefront game, like me, who loved it.
