O my God Trigun! :waah:The movie is just a long "episode" that takes place during the series. The series finale really is the "end" of the series.
I recommend Trigun if you haven't seen it yet for your next series.
Yeah, I was disappointed to find that out. I still wouldn't mind seeing the crew of the Bebop in action one more time, though. The movie is just a long "episode" that takes place during the series. The series finale really is the "end" of the series.
I recommend Trigun if you haven't seen it yet for your next series.
Oh, dang it. I'm in for another depressing ending, aren't I?O my God Trigun! :waah:
That's also the doing of the boyfriend. :fist shake:

Oh, sweet![/COLOR]One thing I just noticed - both my recommendations, Darker and Frontier, had their music done by Yoko Kanno, the same lady who composed the score for Cowboy Bebop. So if you liked that...
I agree. Both have a great cast. Generally I'm not a stickler for English/Japanese, but if you can get Trigun with subtitles. The Japanese actor does the flip from doofy Trigun to serious Trigun really really well.I could recommend ALOT of other stuff, but after watching Bebop, I'd recommend Trigun first.
I'm a weaponsmith now so your DKP means nothing!Just when I started to like you Fusion, you go and recommend Love Hina?
Ugh, -50dkp.

If you get the chance check out Fullmetal Alchemist, there's the original series and the movie (awesome stuff), and the new ongoing series (really awesome stuff).I think I'll stick with watching Trigun next. Love Hina doesn't really seem like my type of show.
The other mentioned in this thread sounds good also, though. Man, I've got a lot of anime ahead of me...

I liked TTGL, but a lot of other super robot anime do exactly what it does and do it ten times better.Waaait... JONJON, you didn't include Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in that massive list? Thought it'd be right up your street.
ttgl is a lot better if you watch it after you watch some of those other ones.I liked TTGL, but a lot of other super robot anime do exactly what it does and do it ten times better.
TTGL is great if you want to watch some excellent high-budget animation, but as a super robot show there are better choices (GaoGaiGar, New Getter Robo, Shin Mazinger, Mazinkaiser, etc).
How far you got so far, episode-wise? Regardless, I can promise you: it gets crazier. It gets a whooole lot crazier.I'm working through TTGL right now and enjoying it. Funny, and the action is pretty good too.

YES. VERY YES. And Diebuster, while not as good, I think helps make the first one even better.Gunbuster - Giant robots with fanservice and super-bittersweet ending
Fixed. First season had some real terrible episodes and the third season was serious business.Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is slapstick mecha-wartime-comedy-high-school-gags at its very best.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex-awesome story
A friend of mine let me borrow his set of Ghost in the Shell (the same friend who got me Cowboy Bebop for my birthday, in fact), so I'll probably be checking this one out before I see Trigun. I've seen one episode so far, and though it doesn't tickle my fancy quite as much as Cowboy Bebop did, it seems pretty cool.I third Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex. Two season TV show, one follow-up movie, all awesome.
I've always wanted to check out One Piece, though I'm not sure I'm up for that kind of time commitment. I'll might just pass on Bobobo Bo Bobobo though. I'm new to anime, as I said, and there's only so much weird I can take.Since no one's mentioned them yet, I'd probably recommend One Piece and Bobobo Bo Bobobo.
:tear: out:and just to reopen the wound...
This. As soon as you can get your hands on Trigun, watch it. It's worth the time.Soliquoguy, Trigun is going to surprise the hell out of you. Give it the chance to blow you away.

Funny you should mention that. My brother was planning on getting me a subscription for my birthday, but then he had some trouble with his sales job, and lost a lot of money. He says he'll get it for me eventually, though. Can you get Netflix?
My only comment on this is that the actual stand-alone episodes and the plot episodes are different experiences to watch. The plot episodes very much require that you be up-to-date on previous episodes. The stand-alone ones, not so much. What's nice is that they tell you in the episode title whether it's plot or stand-alone.A friend of mine let me borrow his set of Ghost in the Shell (the same friend who got me Cowboy Bebop for my birthday, in fact), so I'll probably be checking this one out before I see Trigun. Told you it got crazier. Also, I just finished Gurren Lagann. It's on Hulu right now and it's only 27 episodes. I really recommend it.

I agree with this statement 100%.I could recommend ALOT of other stuff, but after watching Bebop, I'd recommend Trigun first.
Ooh, yes, there's a good 'un. Fantastic artwork, and genuinely engaging, even if it does take a couple of episodes to get used to the characters.Trigun and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood have already been suggested, so...
Planetes.
My second favorite anime ever, behind Cowboy Bebop.
Never seen the anime, but read all the manga. Love this series.BERSERK. Seriously awesome. Incredibly fucking dark but never quite hopeless. The last few episodes are just jaw-dropping.

It's not as viscerally fucked asFor Berserk, that's saying something.
It's so depressing, demonic, and violent, there is surprisingly credible "evidence" that Berserk takes place on a forgotten warp-planet in Warhammer 40k, and that Guts is one of the Lost Primarchs. Tongue-in-cheek, obviously, but it actually kind of works.I still say that Berserk is a manga version of the most badass RPG campaign ever. I mean, it kind of feels like that sometimes, doesn't it?
