Steam Summer Sale Day 1.
Steam Sale Day 1.png

I bought Witcher, Democracy (& DLC), XCOM, & Don't Starve. I had $70 saved up for this sale. I'm down $32 already! Of course, I can't play them yet, but I have them!

Why couldn't I have gotten my profit sharing this week?!?

God freaking dangit, I knew I shouldn't have bought Prison Architect yesterday and I did it anyway. Could have had an extra 5 bucks to get a whole other game.

Witcher's been cheaper than that on GOG before, and it'd go direct to the developer. Bad Dave! :p (also, it counts as a coupon on the pre-order of Witcher III. Steam version also counts, so, if you want....

I was going to go for Machine For Pigs, but the reviews feel a bit damning. It sounds like I may be better off just waiting for Soma.[DOUBLEPOST=1403294867,1403294328][/DOUBLEPOST]Does anyone need Summer Adventure Card 1? Will trade for any one of 2-4, 6, or 8-10?

Friend request sent.[DOUBLEPOST=1403295533,1403295430][/DOUBLEPOST]I'll just flat out give you my cards. I don't plan on really doing anything with them other than sell them, so you can have 'em.

My bad. I told you what my rules were without explicitly saying "NO. DO THIS."

Incidentally I think I have a card number 3 if anyone wants it.

I'm doing the card collecting thing, so if anyone's willing to pass them along, feel free. I also currently have an extra Card #3.

Heh, soon as steam's back up, yeah.[DOUBLEPOST=1403370704,1403370168][/DOUBLEPOST]Uh actually, it seems to just be an open group anyone can join. At least the one I'm in is.. I heard there might be a second.

Anyone who hasn't played it, I recommend The Stanley Parable. It's a very different kind of game, but it's a lot of fun. Each play through is only around 30 minutes, but there are also around 17 different endings.

I challenge you to get the Broom Closet ending. That's my favourite ending.

Oi, the broom closet ending is my favorite.

Finally joined the Halforums steam group, and found out that I won't be getting any cards from voting until I level up twice.

Borderland 2 is 5 bucks, and GOTY edition is 10 bucks. Totally worth it. If you've been putting off picking up BL2, now's the time to get the GOTY edition.

Having played it on PS3, I can say Tomb Raider's worth the $5. It plays quite a bit like Uncharted (which is ironic, given that Uncharted borrowed heavily from the older TRs), but it's pretty compelling.

Saints Row IV has finally hit the magic number where I can buy it in accordance with my aforementioned "rule." Also thinking about getting Dark Souls prepare to die edition for 5 bucks. I already have FTL, but it's down to 4 bucks now if there are any holdouts who still haven't gotten it yet.

I got Hitman: Absolution last steam sale, and I have to say I was disappointed in it. It wasn't as good as Hitman 2, 3 or 4.

Nether gets really, really bad reviews.

So Farcry 3 is on sale for 14.79 but the farcry franchise pack, including 1,2,3 and blood dragon is also on sale for 14.79

Yay, all the Lego games are on sale. I now own all of them again.[DOUBLEPOST=1403560197,1403560061][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'd recommend getting Dark Souls, however, I know your aversion to GFWL, so just be aware that it's on that game.

OMG, I'm buying so many games on the cheap.

Skyrim (PC version. I have a ps3 version, but I don't use the PS3 much any more)
Endless Space
Farming Simulator 2013 (laugh all you want. I weirdly enjoyed Euro Trucking Simulator, so I figured I'd like this one too)
RPG Maker VXAce and a bunch of related games and DLC (Already played To the Moon and cried. Gah)
PixelJunk Monsters
Sins of a Solar Empire
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (I'm hoping to enjoy this. I loved the tabletop RPG)

For a pittance. My stingy pocketbook weeps with joy with how little I've spent.
By the time the summer sale is over, I imagine I'll spend $60 or so. For a crapton more games than I could've gotten from GameStop for the same money. It may not seem like a huge list, but if you consider that I usually only buy a game every year or two, it's like I've gone to crazy town.

As is obvious by my list, I'm really into pure high fantasy and pure space sci-fi. I don't buy a lot of horror/zombie/post-apocolyptic stuff. That is, if you totally ignore the weird digression into driving trucks and tractors around. WTF is that all about anyway?

I thought with the impending GFWL shutdown, they were patching it out? It may be a dealbreaker for me if not.

(google google, read read)

Welp, looks like I'll be giving it a pass.

I understand WHY it's keeping GFWL in there, because it's woven into the game itself, as far as invading other people's games, bloodstains, messages and such, but it would be nice to see it patched out and go to a dedicated server.
