[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

I paused "Merry Christmas Mordecai" at least five times up until the end, as if my instincts were trying to warn me how much of a "WHAT THE FUCK" moment it would be.

Sons of Anarchy series finale was a wonderful work of hacky magic. The only way Sutter could have been less subtle with his Christ symbolism would have been to have himself shouting, "JAX IS JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!" into the camera for 30 minutes after the show ended.

And that was season 18 of South Park and it was...good. Not great, but good. And while I know many people liked the continuity between episodes as well as the recurring jokes I feel it was one of the weaker elements of this season. I feel South Park works best when its done with a loose continuity, the continuity in this season while funny in a reccurring joke sense at first felt a bit too constraining to me later on
(plus that transgender joke at the season finale was just reaching and sad).
And finally it felt kinda soft, like it doesn't have the bite of previous seasons. Maybe it was the delivery, the story telling, or maybe how some scenes felt to serious, all I know is this is definitely not my favorite season. If its yours go ahead as I do admit there's good to it, but it sure as hell ain't mine.

The whole Lorde sub-plot felt too stretched out, it should've stuck to one maybe two episodes. I love a good over arcing plot in a comedy show and well...that wasn't one. Maybe okay, but not really good.

Did anybody actually watch React To This on Nick last night? I didn't. I kinda meant to maybe check it out since I'm a big fan of the youtube channel... but it didn't happen.

Assuming you mean live TV, me neither. I can't remember the last time I watched something live in my house. I usually torrent or stream it.
Sorry, yes, that's what I mean. I don't torrent either though. If I can't watch it on Hulu or on their site and they want to make it difficult to watch, it's really their loss. So many good shows would be doing well if the networks didn't actively make it harder to watch them.

These days I just seem to watch South Park and Grimm, and while South Park usually waits for friday, I most often watch Grimm as soon as I get the torrent, and with my automatic torrent RSS feed checking, I usually have the episode within an hour of its having finished airing. Was the same for Game of Thrones, when it was on.

Charlie Brown Christmas: Cheesy as all hell, but still good.

Both Prep and Landings: WOW these were just okay. Not gonna make my list of traditions that's for sure.

Forever: Show about an immortal doctor , saw the first ep and it looks pretty good.

I've been watching Selfie because of Karen Gillan, but the show just went from dumb to reprehensible.

Eliza broke up with her boyfriend in front of his parents, and then tried to seduce the already taken Henry by stripping in front of him. No, that is not okay.

That's moved from socially ignorant to just flat out evil. I no longer have any sympathy for Eliza or the show. I'm done.

Wasn't it cancelled? If so, must be finishing up the last episodes. Either way, sounds like it was a mercy killing.

I've been watching it on Hulu. For all I know it's not airing anymore, and they're only being shown online. It is a mercy killing. There are good points to the show, but not enough to outweigh all the bad.

Well congrats, Supernatural season 7, you made me cry you bastard.

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU LET BOBBY DIE, FFFFFFFFFF. YOU'RE LUCKY IT WAS SUCH A GREAT EPISODE BUT STILL

End of something that's for sure!We got like at least one more season, so maybe.
Maybe, or it could be part of a larger plot to redeem the Ice King. They brought Betty to Ooo, and they've given him enough back-story to show that his continued existence and his crown are more important than his annoying actions.

I'm betting Betty is the one who learns the secret origin of the crown, and then teams up with PB to try and reprogram it! Also, how cool is it that the crown was like some sci-fi synaptic interface deal? MAGITECH!

I have friends who use that phrase, too. "I don't watch tv". But just said you binged the whole season of Sherlock. "Yeah, but that was on Hulu." So? It's still TV.

Bojack Horseman Christmas special

Pretty good, good satirization of the genre and sitcoms while also putting in some holiday warm and fuzzies. Also I REALLY want to see what Ethan's actor is like as an adult now.

I didn't realize it but the full version of the Bojack Horseman opening theme was released to the masses. It's really fantastic.

One time

by which I mean like a month ago (?)

Constantine had this shitty episode that made me think about

It's too late for me to post this but I currently don't care

"From a kingdom long ago, an enigma wrapped in mystery! We've battled every foe, since before the dawn of history! History!BATTLESAURS! BATTLESAURS! BATTLESAURS! Hoo-AH!"

Only 20 seconds, yet still one of the best themes I've heard in a while.

Watching Three Kingdoms (2010) on YouTube as of late. Soooo good. On episode 86 now.

Most of the cast is dead due to war, age, illness... new guys keep coming in but it's constantly good.

Were there liberties compared to history? fuck yeah but I can't complain.
