This season of The Awesomes wrapped up. It's still pretty fun. It kind of feels more like a web series than a real one, but it's clear the crew knows the genre reasonably well, and that's always refreshing.

Finally finished off Season 3 of Hannibal.

There will never be another show like this again. I know they wanted to keep going, but that was honestly a pretty wonderful way to cap off that love story. I love that the series wasn't beholden to the source material and gave us what it did.

Rad spoiler image for one of the final moments of the show.

W/ Bob & David and you should be too. Sadly only 4 episodes, but 4 episodes of the best sketch comedy in 16 years.

I am one of the virgins.

I can't go into the thread for The Flash yet since I'm not caught up, but this show is kind of amazing in a weird way. At once it can be really cheesy and cliched, and sometimes shows little faith in its audience ... and yet at the same time will be full of genuine heartfelt moments, quality writing, solid acting. It's bizarrely engrossing.

I just finished Freaks and Geeks on Netflix. Talk about a great show. I can't think of a series that better portrays life in high school. High schoolers lose in life. They have no independence and no money beyond what their parents allow. They have no authority at school, even if they do particularly well at academics or sports. Most everyone, including and perhaps especially the "cool" kids, is pressured to have certain interests and do things a certain way regardless of what their real hobbies are. You're not allowed to trick or treat past a certain age, you can't be interested in Star Wars, listening to this kind of music makes you a burnout, etc.

I found the series especially insightful when dealing with the kids I dismissed in high school. The kids with the tough exterior and hair-trigger temper often had problems at home. Everyone, no matter how mellow or frenetic, has an internal battle to fight every day.

What I'm wondering is why it was canceled before the first season ended. Was it the Saturday night time slot? Or was it because NBC didn't want an anti-Dawson's Creek?

Not sure why it was cancelled - but undeclared serves as a sequel-not-sequel based in the early 2000s.

Holy shit, binged THE FUCK out of Fargo. That may be the single best single season of TV ever created.
That's what I've been saying! Season one was the bomb and season 2 has almost outdone it. Won't know until I watch the finale tomorrow night.

Well Fargo, if your job is making other TV look bad, you're up for a promotion.

Binged the shit out of season 2.
I love how the first season connects to the movie and how the second season connects to the first. Such a great show and awesome performances all around this season. Please FX, keep letting these guys make seasons of this absolutely fabulous show.

Jessica Jones

This is pretty good. I've only seen the first two, but it drags a little. They went right for the whole
anal with Luke Cage thing from the comic
. I was bothered by what seems to be a huge plot hole in the first episode though.
Where did Hope get the gun? When Jessica took her from the hotel she was in her underwear with a coat thrown around her. I didn't see Jessica grab a purse.

I just finished watching Jessica Jones this weekend. I've got a problem with the ending (spoilers, obviously, don't click if you haven't watched the finale)

The "test" that Kilgrave used to make sure he was controlling Jessica was stupid and a much more obvious test was available. Rather than seeing if Jessica would stop him from leaving with Patsy, he should have ordered Jessica to kill Patsy. That's one thing she definitely would be far less able to "fake" doing as if she were under control, because Patsy was also under Kilgrave's control and wouldn't be able to "play along." There's even an out, so that the writers wouldn't have written themselves into a corner that way - yet another syringe of Sufentanil. It would have allowed for a double whammy - Jessica would appear to kill Patsy, then could break Kilgrave's neck as she did, then when the audience is all "Oh shit she killed Patsy to get at Kilgrave!" then hit em with the syringe reveal.

Watched that College Humor show Adam Ruins Everything. The death episode was quite excellent and full of really, really good advice. I've seen enough death to completely agree.

Saw the first 1 and a half eps of "Better off Ted". Looks okay, though I find the 4th wall narration a little taxing, felt we should've seen a scene of Ted's ex being bad at saving the world, Phil shouldn't have shook if he was completely frozen, and I find Ted has better chemistry with his boss than the angry cubicle lady. ALSO-did they really think electronic paper towel dispensers were that tricky to use? Just whack the damn thing with the back of your hand, BAM paper towels. BUT-it looks okay.

I love that show. It's so insane and if you can let go of the science not being possible it's fun to watch what they come up with.

Totally marking out for the Shannara Chronicles! It's back to the 80's for me baby!!!

Allanon!

=swoons=
It's promising. Moody, but not too silly. It's been so long since I read the stories that I don't know how well it is following the narrative, but it still tells a good story.

Watching Making a Murderer and it might just be the most compelling show, like, ever.
If you're into that you should watch West Memphis Three.

And for anyone, really, who's into Making a Murderer you should watch West Memphis Three or listen the podcast 'Serial'. They talk about Adnan Syed, which is a case that is currently on-going.

(I find it odd that people are completely up in arms with this story when it's nothing new and has happened, kind of frequently, in the past. Why did no one care about this years ago? That said, I hope maybe, finally, this bring about some change with the system.)

My contribution to the thread: Just finished season 2 of Hannibal and I'm already sad, knowing that there's only one more season left. :( That show...it's something else and I'm extremely disappointed Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen didn't win more acting awards, or any prestigious ones, for it because good lord! They're knocking it out of the park for me.

The whole thing is a bit one-sided. They only showed Avery's team's arguments.
They showed all the court proceedings, but the prosecution wouldn't cooperate with the documentary makers, so they didn't get into their process much.

Regardless of Averys guilt the entire legal proceedings were a sham.

I just finished Fargo Season 1. That has been the best season of t.v. I have ever seen. What an amazing cast and what wonderful writing. Just perfect.
