[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

Looks like a really conscious effort at using a colourblind palette, especially the way that all of the similarly-coloured books are invariably broken up by a distinctive different colour between them.

I am okay with this as long as it's a new loop they start, seeing as the one from the first season was resolved. Apparently, when it was pitched, they had up to three seasons of story so they had a second season in mind from the get go.

I really liked the first season so I will definitely check the second out.

Interesting. I had not expected that to be the case with how complete the first season felt. I'll definitely watch season two as well.

I've talked about Warrior a ways back, but the season 1 finale just aired the past week. I don't know if anybody else has been watching it, but I'm just gonna recommend it again if you like kung fu and good character development. Also, it's by the creators of Banshee, and has a few Banshee folks in it.

The season itself, I feel like, is more of a grand introduction to the characters and the setting - relatively, not a huge amount of forward plot momentum happened, but the big tension has been building while the characters develop (mostly Ah Sahm, the protagonist, adapting to the new environment of San Francisco and its rules) on a backdrop of some good old-fashioned ultra-violence with a kung-fu twist. I am extremely looking forward to season 2 and see all that tension really explode.

I can imagine the show was probably somewhat expensive to produce (like all action shows). Thinking back, this is partly what killed Heroes (aside from it's... terrible terrible writing), as they couldn't DO superhero stuff in a show about super heroes, and why ABC is constantly trying to kill SHIELD (it DOES show superhero stuff and it's expensive as hell).

That said... before Good Omens, it was probably the best show on Amazon. If the issue is they can't put out cash to fund quality shows, maybe they need to look at what they are doing as a service because it's clear that money isn't being spent on getting good movies ether.

I know not every black mirror is "phone bad" but I just watched an hour and 15 minutes to see "phone bad."

Just finished JJ last night. I am a bit bummed that these characters are going away, kind of. JJ was never as good as S1. This season dragged. Too many side stories. Villain was boring. Hellcat should have been better done. It had some decent moments and some okay dialogue, but I don't really want/need another season of this show. DD is the only one that I would still want to watch; although that final season was a super-drag too.

Holy shit.

I'm watching the final episode, and I don't think I can articulate any more than that at the moment.

Tbh I was happy to see Michael go. While the last season was weak, I thought the 8th season kinda worked better than the rest of the show since the characters could kinda interact together without Michael being the focus every single time.
