I got a job in Tianjin , China! I'm going to be working at an International Korean school. I was kind of worried I wasn't going to get the job. The pay and benefits are fantastic. I was up until 2AM last night waiting for confirmation from the school. Now all I gotta do is prepare my visa documents ( and find an apartment in Tianjin---which will be paid for, but I still need to find it). Tianjin sits relatively near Beijing. You can get to Beijing via high-speed train in about 30 minutes for about $10 USD (first class ticket) which means I'll be spending a few interesting Saturdays roaming the Forbidden City. Tianjin itself is huge....3rd largest urban area after Shanghai and Beijing and it's a port city. Although I love teaching, I'm almost more excited about the photos I'll be able to take (of which, you can be assured I'll likely post here, so bear with me).
Can't wait to go back to China. Been preparing a year and a half, finishing my Linguistics degree to prepare myself for going back. In roughly a month, I will. Weeeee :aaahhh:
EDIT: Heh, guess this board refuses to take Chinese characters. Got a board error everytime I tried to post, until I removed the Chinese. What a racist board you run Ed :slywink:

While lying in bed a couple of nights ago I had a great idea for a book. Not just a good idea - a GREAT idea. A HOLY SHIT! idea. I'm not ready to say anything too publicly yet, but suffice it to say that I've already begun writing it and will be involving the board soon for ideas. I did a search online and in Amazon and can't find anything like it.
If this works like I plan it might mean book tour, talk shows and living my dream as a professional speaker.

Just got back from 4 days alone visiting my girlfriend, that was way awesome. Finally picked up fallout 3 and it is so fraking good. and tonight, im going to play trivia with a bunch of friends.

It will be. I knew absolutely nothing about babies until I became an aunt. I've been lucky enough to have an adorable niece, an adorable nephew, and an adorable nephew by eventual marriage, and it's given me the confidence to think I could handle a baby without killing it. about two years ago now, give or take a couple months, i saw Xfire was having a contest for a autographed copies of Pure Pwnage Season 1 on dvd. you had to enter to get into a fan chat with the cast, so that was a random draw. then in the chat, the cast chose 15 people out of like 100 who asked them the best questions, to get the prizes. I won a copy ;p took a while to get here but it is indeed awesome.
about a year and a half ago, i won an ipod nano in a random raffle drawing, 4gb silver, which yea the 4th gen nano is out now but at the time the 3rd gen (which it was) was literally brand new so it is indeed awesome.
last monday i saw a contest over on Evil Avatar's forum, for a random drawing for copies of Defense Grid. so i entered, they drew the prize winners today, and I won ;p I got my steam activation code very quickly, worked fine, had it downloaded within 5-10 minutes and been rocking it all day long, great game (if you love tower defense games, this one is epic).
i've won quite a few random raffles and drawings over the years, the ipod probably being the most valuable thing.
