I was busy playing Twilight Imperium at a friend's house and it went even longer than I anticipated, so I texted another friend of mine, who's made it clear to me she is rooting for the Canucks and does not approve of my cheering for Boston, to find out the score.

Me: "What's the score?"
Her: "I don't want to talk about it"

No, I should have though. It was REALLY close. Also tonight I found out that the guy who did win, shouldn't have, because he declared his Secret Objective outside of the objective phase. I needed 3 victory points, I had completed the public objective on the board (+1), and was next in line for the Imperial strategy(+2), so would have won immediately on my next turn. First time playing it. Fun game.
Back to the NHL: Oh man I can't wait to get home from work tomorrow so I can watch that game! I'm off at 5, too, so I can stop at the LCBO and get some beer on the way home!

Let it be known that the hardest competition that the Bruins had was against the Montreal Canadians, who played without their #1 and #4 defencemen and a top 6 forward.

Tim Thomas was as outstanding as he ever is. The Canucks were just undisciplined team. Boston just seemed to keep the same composure that they had through out the year.

My little brother's girlfriend was apparently there at ground zero, not because she gave a shit about hockey but because her and some girlfriends she was vacationing with were drinking in a bar. She got tear gassed.

Here's my take on this.

If you're THERE you should be as fair game as those committing these acts. You're not helping matters being part of the scene and part of the problem. Go home or else expect to feel some pain.

Everyone should be free game to the police during THESE type of riots.

Absolutely useless.

Sorry, not gonna feel sorry for them. In the long run, as nice as the Cup is, and as much as it means to people in the hockey world - it's still just a game. I've been in those same shoes before, and I don't particularly remember those of us in Milwaukee rioting when the Hershey Bears were skating around on our ice with the Calder Cup. We were far from happy, but we also knew life went on.

Things like this are reasons why I say "Make it FIVE."

Now, you'll excuse me while I go wait for training camp to start in October.
