[Webcomic] The Order of the Stick thread

This coloring book may just be the greatest thing ever. I'm totally going to color in this with my 6 year old.

More than likely "Thog" wasn't affected, but Sabine is probably gone, that little demon behind the door is probably gone and the remainder are probably at LEAST blinded and deafened right now.

But then again, "Thog" did take them all on at once before, so...

So basically they only need to worry about "Thog" right now, as he's likely the most advanced character in that group.
I really doubt any of them are 5 levels below Durkon's caster level so they'll still be able to do stuff, just not very well.

Taking them out before "Thog" would be the tactically sound move imo.

I'm pretty sure that this is all leading up to the dramatic father/son battle predicted earlier. Which is the main reason Tarquin agreed to go, I guarantee.

It's thematically too early for that. Tarquin needs to kidnap Haley first, then Elan will chase him down. THEN they have the fight to the death.

Durkon is at LEAST 13th level to cast a 7th level Cleric spell. But I can't see them all being the same level, ya know? And if they are even ONE level below Durkon, they are fucking blind and deaf - no save.

Whoa... Dave knows his D&D. I guess that's not surprising; he probably did his share of dragon... I mean, dinosaur-slaying when young.

I think Qarr was (purposely) shielded behind the door trap, so he wouldn't be affected by it (Malack as well).
Doesn't matter. The spell specifically states that creatures within 40 feet are banished - even if they can't hear the word. *BAMF* He's gone.

Unless he (and Sabine) Willsave.
Well Sabine has a natural +7, so she's only at plus +3 for this. The Imp is only at +4 normally, so he's down to nothing. Durkon is probably at +5 or higher, if he's been putting his points in there, so he's still got an edge over Sabine.

So yeah. They probably aren't going anywhere. Though I'd laugh if this makes the Raven and Belkar's Cat disappear.

Belkar's cat isn't a celestial familiar like the other paladin pets, though. He's just a cat. Isn't he?

Wait a minute...he actually makes rolls for things? How much of that has affected the story?
AFAIK he imagines the rolls. Point is that everything in the comic can be done by the characters. They may have to roll a natural 20, but it's possible. And very often, they don't do all that great by the way.
Each and every fight can (and often is) written out within the D&D 3.5 rules.

Belkar loves killing, but the majority of the killing we've seen him do are on low level baddies, like the army of goblins where he declared himself a shoeless god of war or something. I imagine killing all those low-levels doesn't help. Durkon's helped take down some of the biggest and baddest.
