Justice League vs Teen Titans

Not as good as Teen Titans, not as insultingly unwatchable as Teen Titans Go. About on par with the other recent direct-to-video DCAU offerings such as Justice League:War and Justice League: Doom (though it doesn't come close to the excellent Flashpoint Paradox). Yet another DC work that reaffirms my dislike of Damian Wayne as a character, though it attempts to halfway redeem him by the end. Although the movie's main plot is essentially the Trigon arc, it's massively condensed because the movie has to squeeze in introductions, character growth, team building, Raven's origin story AND the rise and fall of Trigon, with some dabbling in the all-too-common-these-days cliche "every young adult romance" schlock. I suppose I should just be grateful nobody kissed anybody by the end of the movie. It's a solid C minus. There is a noteworthy scene or two to be found throughout the movie, including a Moon Power Make Up homage with Starfire, and Nightwing all but lampshading fanservice while facetiming with Koryand'r. Not the most terrible thing I've ever watched, but also not worth fretting over if you forget to watch it, ever.

Justice League Action

MAN-I can't wait for this to come to the states so I don't have to deal with that terrible sound quality, because this is a lot of fun. Not much deep story-line yet, but so was the same with many other 11 minute shows. ALSO-Patton Oswalt as Space Cabbie, because WHY not?!

MAN-Ben went from Randy Cunningham to Dewey Duck? Guess that answers the question about whether 9th Grade Ninja is coming back.

Seriously though I'm stoked.

I really dig the Mrs. Beakley redesign. Looks like she's not the head maid anymore... so maybe Scrooge's Executive Assistant? Maybe she's on the board of his company? Maybe she runs the company whenever Scrooge is doing something CRAZY.

"Mrs. Beakley, would you come in here for a bit?"
She comes in.
"I'm planning an expedition to the moon to look for rare lunar cheese. I'm putting you in charge until I get back! Oh and I'm taking Webby."
She just nods. Scrooge leaves and she slides behind his desk... cracks open the Scotch and just drinks as she works up the courage to call the board, because they still haven't forgiven her for letting him look for El Dorado in South America that one time..

... something just occurred to me. About Rick and Morty.

Spoilers because I'm SURE there's one or two of you that have, against all odds, managed not to watch both seasons multiple times while we all jones for season 3...

If Tammy was a "deep cover" galactic federation agent all along, trying to arrest Rick Sanchez and his known associates... why did she wait until the wedding to close the net? Why not do it at Summer's party in season 1 where Tammy first hooks up with Bird Person? The guest list was practically the same - Rick, BP, Squanchy, plus more were all at the party (Rick invited all his "friends" after all).

you know, Doug usually talks a lot of crap in this type of reviews but oh boy.

He basically complains that a Mickey Mouse cartoon is a Mickey Mouse cartoon. But what really pisses me off is his line about Disney comics didn't have any depth. What about the comics by Carl Barks and Don Rosa or the many (mostly) European artists? His favourite Disney cartoon Ducktales wouldn't even exist without the comics by Carl Barks. By the way, great research using a clearly modern comic page as an example for "pure, innocent artwork of more simple times".

I'd like to add that Disney comics like Paperinik (Donald Duck as a superhero) and others still sell REALLY well in Europe, even if they don't in the US.

Yeah the Rosa Scrooge comics I've read are great stories.

I'm currently watching TrollHunters, and it's a good time so far. Nothing super special but the action is well-animated and pretty cool to watch, plus some fantastic voice talent (including the late Anton Yelchin as the main character, which was sad to find out).

Justice League Action

This is really turning into a great show, even if I have to groan at what they do to John Constantine every time he shows up. Just had an episode with the House of Mystery. Really, at this point all I can wish for is Detective Chimp or Renee Montoya as The Question!

Is that really real?[DOUBLEPOST=1483489508,1483489283][/DOUBLEPOST]According to tv guide, there is no Rick and Morty airing at any point on January 9th. The episode airing on January 8th is the Season 1 finale.

Sorry folks.
