Not usually a sports guy, but I watched him play all the time as a kid growing up in and around San Diego. Sad stuff.

I recall an interview he did with Bob Costas. Ted Williams was sitting next to him, and when the subject was hitting, Tony was like the nervous pupil sitting next to his old teacher.

It wasn't a curse, he loved the team and the city. He never wanted to go anywhere else.
