[News] US Capitol Siege 6 January 2021

At least two of the insurrectionists have committed suicide. So far.
My wife has suggested that it may not have been done out of shame, but as a refusal to be forced to live out their lives under Bidenist Socialism.

There have been ones threatening to do so if Orange Boy lost, so...following through, I guess?

One was a respected, on-duty DC cop, not a rioter. My bad.
The other was a Georgia man who pled "not guilty," threw bail, and then shot himself in the chest two days later.

Trained? TRAINED!?
Ehh, I wouldn't read too much into this one. They don't say "it's everything we were trained for", but "everything we trained for".
Most would-be "militia", survivalists, etc would consider themselves to have "trained" for when the government finally shows its despotic, tyrannical side. I mean, you'd sort of expect them to fight against, not for, the tyrant, but still.

U.S. says Capitol rioters meant to 'capture and assassinate' officials - filing

" Federal prosecutors offered an ominous new assessment of last week’s siege of the U.S. Capitol by President Donald Trump’s supporters on Thursday, saying in a court filing that rioters intended 'to capture and assassinate elected officials.' "
....
"In Chansley’s case, prosecutors said the charges 'involve active participation in an insurrection attempting to violently overthrow the United States government,' and warned that 'the insurrection is still in progress' as law enforcement prepares for more demonstrations in Washington and state capitals."

Wow, and the Nazis are setting up an insanity defense already, “Chansley has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien, a higher being, and he is here on Earth to ascend to another reality,”

"Michael Sherwin, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, has said that while many of the initial charges may seem minor, he expects much more serious charges to be filed as the Justice Department continues its investigation. "

No fucking shit. Anyone who watched it could see that. Wonder what gave it away? Was it the bombs? The chanting of "hang Pence" while constructing gallows? The zip cuffs to kidnap officials? The list of targets?

I can't fathom how they put that together!

A thought: what if that little meeting between Pence and Trump was a discussion over the 25th - and Pence basically said, "You and I both know that if I do anything, it's political suicide, but if you don't stop your #### now, I will do it." In essence, holding the sword of Damocles over his head.

This is pretty much what I expected. It's also why Trump after that pretty much stopped doing anything. He has been stewing mostly in silence, even though he could start a press conference anytime he wanted.

Up until the meeting with the MyPillow guy. Then the "coup part 2" doom and gloom started filling up my twitter feed.

If you want to understand all this, a good factoid to ponder is a [22yr-old] Trump supporter stealing Nancy Pelosi's laptop and trying to send it to the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation without herself having been paid or recruited.
