What are you listening to II: Electric Bogaloo

Krisken - I thought that Jon Crosby was still around recording and performing as VAST.

I think there was a long break in between recordings, but I'm pretty sure there was something new out in the last 2 -3 years. That said, I will agree it is a highly underrated and generally ignored group.

Damn does that make me a hipster? LOL

I loved VAST. So much so that my old internet handle from like a decade ago was VASTimus. Pretty much the worst name ever.

I've been digging this German prog rock band Sylvan thanks to that one video in the Minecraft thread. Grabbed what I could from Itunes, which sadly did not include the album Posthumous Silence where this song comes from.

I'ma have to go check out more of the Kreeps stuff, because I love everything they did for Undead Nightmare. Kinda rockabilly, kinda surf. I'm there.

Continuing my 'bands that didn't get nearly enough attention' posts, here is Snowpony.

Adding a live song by the same band.

I've been listening to a lot of surf music lately. Mainly Dick Dale, but also quite a bit of the Chantays and some Ventures as well. And obviously the Surfaris.

Checker if you have not heard Junior Brown play guitar, check him out, he does a great Surf Medley, the veers off into Hendrix and Zeppelin.

Not so much listening to it, but the song is stuck in my head. I'm hoping it isn't a sign that robots will come out of my skull next.

I looked into this guy, and I found a Surf Medley, which was AWESOME, but did not include Hendrix or Zepplin. I did find a Rock Medley by him as well though.

Wait it was the Sugarfoot Rag... a ragtime played on blues guitar, with western twang, ending in the slides to power rock.

Also when ever I see him in concert I end up screaming like a schoolgirl at a Beatles concert.

He's the best dang showman.
