is the joke I misspelled there?

I don't get it!

Homophones are NOT my friend.

It's all good. usually I'm the only one who gets to laugh at my weird, often phonetic, typos because I catch them in time. Share the wealth I say.

That's only if you want to ignore everyone. Most of us just have a few people they could do without. Don't throw out the whole bushel just because of a few wormy apples.

You just don't get it. Those of us asking to ignore pointless threads would never need to ignore people singularly. Most of us aren't worried about conflicting opinions. It keeps things interesting and vibrant.

We're actually throwing out the wormy apples (pointless threads) so we can actually see the threads worth reading/posting in. The actual "bushel" as you so put it.

Pretty much what makare said. There's only 2 or 3 people who, while a permanent fixture of the forum, don't contribute anything I have interest in reading. Since they tend to comment in threads I like just avoiding their threads really doesn't help. I'd rather not add to the drama through confrontations that never amount to anything constructive, so I'd like the ignore function to prevent those pointless diversions.

I'm certainly not walking away from the whole forum, which has many fine individuals I've come to respect, simply because of a couple people I'm not fond of.

Edit: Shego, I understand why you want to ignore a couple threads. These are two different issues, and I'm not sure why you insist on saying "You don't get it". You're a smart gal and I have no doubt you understand that.

Yet that wasn't makare's point. She said if you wanted to ignore pointless threads, walk away from the computer, but ignoring singular people permanently is ok? How does that solve anything?

Also, you talk about not being able to ignore people's posts that you don't like? What's stopping you from just skipping it over? You feel the need to ignore them completely and forever on? Yet you say the "nuclear" options are overkill? Sounds pretty hypocritical.

I like talking about things mutually enjoyed. I prefer not to have constant conflict in my conversations. It doesn't make it interesting or vibrant it makes it a giant pain in the ass. Some discussion about things is fine but the people I want to ignore, they don't discuss they argue and just start shit because they can. I don't need or want that. I have threads I'd ignore too. I don't see it as an either or thing. I was just teasing DA and he knows it.

Go ahead and ignore threads when it is available. That's great. Still would like to ignore the people who write useless tripe.

I just wonder how you honestly thing that ignoring a person will somehow prevent discussions you want to keep "pure". They're still going to converse with the other people participating and that will just leave you with half a discussion anyway. Just ignoring the "half you don't want to hear" isn't going to stop all the "horrible discussions".

Never said it would keep it pure. Just don't want to deal with a douche bag and would still like to deal with all the cool people on the forum.

"Deal with a douchebag". That phrase just makes no sense in a forum sense.

Keep you from reading a bunch of crap? You can just not read the post now you know?

I can, and often do, but not even having to see it at all would be so much nicer.

I guess it's my turn to write "You just don't get it".
You're right, I don't. It doesn't make any sense.

In the end, I really don't care, as long as I get my ability to ignore "1+ post lol" threads, you all can ignore everyone who doesn't agree with you all the time.
