[Fixed] Where's my ignore button?

There is something I could do, but it's an all or nothing thing.

I could create a sub called "Forum Games" in which we have these things. I can set it up so that they do not show in the "What's New". Problem is, it wouldn't show for anyone, which is why I've not done it. So to appease one group who hates them, I'd be disaffecting another group who likes them. Plus, I think a sub called "Forum Games" would be popular initially and then die out like the NSFW area did.
I'll take this like a white guy in an Atlantan prison.

I'll guess it's Jay or Mathias, because people get miffed when they don't sugarcoat things. Am I right?

Do you guys actually get enough reports for there to be a substantive difference for whoever is most reported?

Yeah, I can't ever imagine ignoring anyone on here. That would make a lot of threads make less sense than they already do. And who reports posts?

I don't mean this in a bitchy "who-are you??!?" way, but @lien doesn't really pop up on my radar as controversial or anything. Is he/she super disruptive in like... comics and games threads that I don't read much?

UPDATE!!!

XenForo.com went to 1.1 today which means it'll be released soon. Once it does, I will be doing a minor reorg, with a new sub called "Endless Threads". I will be putting stuff in there and excluding it from the What's New. (This is a new ACP thing for 1.1.) I'm also making NSFW so it doesn't hit the What's New.

For those of you who want to ignore users you will be able to do that. For those who want to know when threads in the "Endless Threads" area updates, you'll have to Follow the sub. This should be a good middle ground that can keep everyone happy.

Ignoring people is for thin skinned, mentally oppressed, weak willed, puddles of goo.

Man/Woman up kiddos.
This.

If this gets implemented, I wonder if Gas or I would be most-ignored

To quote Shannow:
What the duece!!!???

But in all seriousness, I have always NOT been a fan of ignore features on forums. A lot of times, the ignore function ends up being used against someone who has a dissenting opion from the ignorer (not just attacking) and from there, they ignore half conversations, that to other readers, now make no sense.

Also, how would someone know they are being ignored? Say you do make a counter argument to a thread, and you have no idea you are being ignored...so other statements are made to a different post in the same thread, and here you are, left out in the wind, with no clue whats going on.

And of course there is the whole "You have ignored this post" message (dont know if it applies here) but if it does, any time I have been in a forum that has ignore, itdoes...and then you get the ignore-er smugly posting a quote or some such to your thread, blatently trolling with things like "Ahhh, glad I cant see this post!"

Meh, I guess I just do not liek the feature over all, it adds too many problems for something that can be fixed in other ways. So yeah...Nut up, you little pussyfarts.

I guess I don't follow the "You're not manly if you use the ignore function" line of thinking. Seems more like attention whores mad they won't be able to get their kicks off their favorite easy victims to me.

The beauty of the ignore button: Don't like it? Don't use it.

BAM!
Again, but if you do try to make a point, and a thread goes off becasue you were ignored, and as such, lost to why people are perhaps suddenly rehashing soemthing you have already said, or saying something counter to you, but unknown why, etc.

I said ntohign about getting kicks off on attention whoring. I feel that the function does not work that well in practice, is all. And that there are other ways to control discussions/threads.
That's because you are tiny baby man.
Yup.

but are there other ways to not have to see what certain people say and still get to enjoy the forum?
