Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Dear telesales and collections businesses of the world.

Please continue watching Glengary Glen Ross and The Boiler Room to their actual conclusion, rather than stopping at the point where the main characters are successful before trying to incorporate their techniques into your training.

Spoiler Alert: Things don't work out for them in the end.

Hahaha, like some stupids trying to be romantic with shit like 'Let me be the Romeo to your Juliet'.

I don't understand. Mutual suicide after a 24-hour fairweather romance is not an ideal for which we ought to strive?[DOUBLEPOST=1390680700,1390680575][/DOUBLEPOST]

If I learned anything in my toxic manipulative relationship, it was how to make up.
I don't think it required such an effort; an apology and explanation over the confusion seemed to allay hurt feelings.

I hurt my back today exercising for the first time in a week. Slipped on some errant ice that only exists because of how unseasonably warm it is. It hurts so bad that I forget that even thinking about food makes me want to throw up. Each heart beat is a throb of agony. I blame my girlfriend. She suggested we go for a jog today and that it would help make me feel better.

WHY YOU GOTTA FUCKIN' LIE TO ME?

We're supposed to go to one of my husband's family's restaurants for a Chinese New Year celebration this Sunday. Normally we could skip it, but this may be the first (possibly only time) our son will get to meet his paternal grandfather. (Long story.) Anyway, it's a little bit of a drive, being in semi-upstate NY, but no big deal, until I just realized something. In order to get there, we have to take the NJ Turnpike.

Right. Past. MetLife. Stadium.

Goddamnit.

I've never had this problem before! I'm looking up alternative routes, so hopefully we can avoid that clusterf***. Most people seem to think the Super Bowl is in New York, anyway.

Well, during game time it shouldn't be a problem...

They are suggesting to the throngs descending upon New York to forgo cars and instead use transit (the subway and buses and such).

EDIT: Is the Garden State Parkway an option to get around East Rutherford?

Ha ha... you don't know the Turnpike very well. ;) Also, the party is 11 am-3PM, so getting home is the worst part.

Yeah, I'm working on an alternate route using the GSP to meet up with I-287/87. It would add a little more time normally, but with the Superbowl traffic, it should save us time.

...for the job security?
...for the chance to go on wacky adventures?
...for cementing your place in The Master Plan?

I guess it mostly just happened. Paid better/way better environment than the grocery store I was working at part-time during my undergrad. Plus, on campus. Then I worked it full-time during the summer, decided not to continue with my degree, kept at it, got promoted, now I am the Project Coordinator.

It's tough, but I am trying. Nonetheless it still means seven hours of my day is completely soul-drainingly mindless. OH WELL I'M THE GENIUS WHO PICKED DATA ENTRY
I did that for a while (as well as centrifuging blood samples) and it wasn't interesting at all, but was a great experience and helped me move on to grad school, etc. So, I guess I'm saying it is time to start thinking about grad school. :-p

I don't even have a BA, or any intention of returning to university. So... Probably not grad school material.

What about long-distance education through U of Alberta? It would be slow but you could probably finish up your BA at home or in the evenings/weekends.

Mostly because I don't... want to. I don't really see the point. I found university a combination of expensive/lonely/frustrating

What about a MOOC? You would be able to take a free or nearly free class in something you're interested in. It may or may not count as part of a degree (I am not that well versed on them), but it would keep your mind busy.

That is certainly a reasonable detractor for continuing in school. I am highly suspect of your claim that you are not grad school material, though. In fact, you might not be undergrad material, but prime grad school material. So tingles my grad-student sense. Also, my suggestion wasn't entirely serious, so don't give it too much weight!

Oh I enjoy doing things like DuoLingo, and recently started looking at Khan Academy. My dad has bought Rosetta stone and wants to practice Spanish with me. I read a lot of history books, literature, do a fair amount of writing...

I have no opposition to university as an institution, or education and learning; I just don't want to go back to university.[DOUBLEPOST=1390945697,1390945626][/DOUBLEPOST]

You're not the first to say that I am not undergrad yet grad school material. But, I see my friends in grad school, and all I think is "Man, I'd lose it if I were them."

Oh, I get it. I almost did...

I was just thinking about this today. I've been feeling overwhelmed with home, school, kids, husband, the Navy, trying fit it all in, etc. I was having a conversation with myself as I was driving and I suddenly thought, "How am I going to handle grad school if I'm having this kind of problem now?" It almost made me cry.

Not looking forward to going back, myself... even though I know it's good for me. But come hell or high water, I'm back at the university in the fall. Anyone wanna take my place?

Might feel better about it if I also weren't working a supposed 40-hour-a-week job that's really more like 70-80. Thank God I don't also have kids. One of the women at work has 2 kids and takes 2 classes per semester. She finished all her work for them before taking maternity leave, too. I think she's a robot.

Welp. Wife was driving home and suddenly noticed her car was pulling to the one side. Guess what: flat right front tire.

And it's still -6°F.
