I do not understand one of my friends. Hell, I don't even know if she is one of my friends. She keeps waffling back and forth between ignoring me, and being super-friendly. We were friends before she left for Disney last summer to work their college program. We were texting back and forth, and she answered me when she wasn't answering a lot of other people. Then she stopped. When she got back in town, I asked if she wanted to have lunch, and she said yes, but she never worked with me to set a date or time. Two shows ago, at auditions she came up to me, put her hand on my knee, leaned in and sincerely asked for my advice on if she should audition that night, or polish her monologue more. We were both cast, and she proceeded to all but ignore me for most of the production. I made kolaches for the cast, because her brother mentioned that they're her favorite, and she didn't even say "thank you" (yes, they were good, the rest of the cast and crew were raving, as usual). She's been cool to me ever since, then yesterday... I was popping my head around the theater area, seeing who was there before rehearsals, and I waved to a different friend. Then I saw out of the corner of my eye that my maybe-friend was waving to me, and smiling, and she kept waving until I acknowledged her. I just... wut? Seriously, now you want to act like we're friends and make sure you get my attention? How am I supposed to treat you? Because I don't even have the beginning of a clue.
