I agree, but it does not sting as much as I was expecting. Mostly that is because I realized the only things I would be buying are the pets and mounts, and with pets going account wide (and possibly mounts, Blizzard is considering it) I will focus on just doing the dailies on a few characters to save up tickets, getting a different pet for each one.
Trying to understand why they did it, my guess would be to drag out the events enough that they stay busy for more then just the first few months. If that is the case, I guess I can accept it. Part of the charm is how busy it is, and I wouldn't want it to become to much of a ghost town like the old faire after eveyone has finished consuming the rewards.
