[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

All I can say is... ouch.

For those confused...

The rare mount that drops from the Lich King, Invincible, was up on this servers BMAH. You can see it near the top with the highest bid 500k. Now look down, someone who obviously was going to place a higher bid on the mount at 515k, instead mistakenly bid on a Blood-Soaked Invitation for the Brawlers Guild. I bet much raging ensued.

Oooh, that sucks. Those reins are one of the reasons I stopped checking r/wow on reddit, multiple postings of people bidding 999k on it whenever it pops up. I guess LK is one of the old raids that'd still be pretty tough/impossible solo, though I've not tried any since the nerf so I dunno.

It's really easy (for most well geared 90s) to solo but not a 100% drop anymore.

I'm going to work my Monk through most all of the raids I can think of, going to skip vanilla for a bit but probably goof around in BC+ to see what I can handle at his gear level (about 470 ilevel).

I guess Valks don't pick you up when you are soloing. I was lol'ing watching all the blowy up balls being kited around though.

I have to admit that I took advantage of an obvious AH error. There was someone selling leather and they obviously forgot to go from unit price to stack price. That's how I got my leatherworking maxxed out before MoP came out.

My hunter is at 89.99. So 90 tonight for sure! It kind if feels like they stretch that last little bit of the exp bar out for subsequent 90 s.

Small bit of info, but seems they are bumping the drop chance on LFR items going into 5.2

If you are a person with horrible luck during LFR, this will likely be welcome news.

New PTR build got released, lots of new models. Plus those workers finally finished Orgrimmar and fixed most of Stormwind. No more giant burning claw marks, Danath is back on his podium and the clock tower is no longer charred. Park is still a massive hole though.

Sure, just when I'm about to stop playing for a while and have had HORRIBLE luck on LFR drops. I mean, literally nothing at all.

More information just dropped for 5.2, some of it pretty big.

Justice Points awarded for heroic dungeon boss kills was increased.
Valor Point costs on gear was reduced (50% on 5.0 epics, 25% on 5.1 epics)

Even when losing a Rated Battleground, you now can earn up to 200 conquest if the team at least does well. The closer the game the more conquest you get. This mean less teams just giving up when they notice it will likely be a loss.

All lower level Battleground Brackets will now scale up all players to the highest level of the bracket. Example, if you enter the 30-34 bracket, and you are less then level 34, it will scale you up to 34 for the duration of the match. Once the battleground is over the level is reverted back to what it was. No more matchmaking randomness causing your whole team to get roftstomped because of level differences.

On the story side of things...

The Wrathion Legendary Chain continues with some possible Titan lore, and a cryptic message. After defeating the Thunder King, Wrathion goes into what appears to be a sort of trance after accessing the titan magics inside the Thunder Kings dark heart.

During the trance he sees all the planets glittering in the universe, with Azeroth standing out above the rest. His voice suddenly turns to a more hollow, forced tone, as if another entity is attempting to speak through him... it says this...

"We have fallen... we must rebuild the final Titan... Do not forget..."

Has all the lore fans in a frenzy over what it might mean.

This is one of those things that almost every other MMO does and it's pretty nice. Granted you're still missing skills and there's going to be an equipment deficit, but not worrying about some level 12 getting twoshot because he's barely broken 500hp is nice. It worked great in Rift PvP.

Some interesting PVP changes coming up other then the whole level normalizing in lower brackets and rated battleground conquest changes.

Item and weapon rating requirements have been entirely removed in favor of tier based gating.

PVP will now have four main tiers of gear. The first crafted (Dreadful), the second for honor (Malevolent) and the third worth conquest (Tyrannical), and a final level that will only open once you have gained over 27,000 conquest for the season (Elite Tyrannical). Once you open the ability to buy Elite Tyrannical, the regular Tyrannical changes so you can buy them with honor points, so that you can save all your conquest for buying the elite set.

At the start of the season Tyrannical weapons will still require a certain amount of conquest gained before they can be purchased, but once the next non-raid patch hits, this requirement will be removed so that anyone can use their points to purchase the weapons. Elite Tyrannical weapons will still always be gated by the 27,000 conquest requirement.

Lastly, they are making a "dynamic cap" for conquest points. What does that mean? Well let's say you are PVP McStabby, and cap your conquest every week at 1000. Once the cap resets it will let you get another 1000 conquest. But what about those people that missed a week? They would have "lost" that weeks worth of possible conquest points and can never catch up with McStabby. Well, in the new dynamic cap, for all the conquest you DIDN'T get that week, it will raise the cap.

Example. If I decided I hated PVP that week and never gained a single conquest point, then at the next reset my available cap will raise to 2000 conquest points. Another week passes, now the cap is 3000 conquest points. I finally get off my ass and start to PVP, gaining 500 conquest points. Once the next reset hits, the cap will raise to 3500 conquest points. If I decide to binge and gain all 3500 conquest points possible because of the high cap, once the next reset occurs, I will be back down to 1000 again.

The reason for these changes is to allow someone a much easier chance to catch up with those that started out in the beginning of the season, while still providing a strong reward for those that keep putting in the time (Elite Tyrannical).

Nothing yet, it'll continue in 5.2 but you can't get the part for 5.2 (which I believe is a new and more powerful gem) until you complete the 6k Valor. It's all a buildup to the Legendary Weapon at the end.
A gem that would work in the same weapon I'm using the +500 intellect in now? Or will there be new weapons to hunt in 5.2? Or perhaps no one knows right now :)
