Some interesting PVP changes coming up other then the whole level normalizing in lower brackets and rated battleground conquest changes.
Item and weapon rating requirements have been entirely removed in favor of tier based gating.
PVP will now have four main tiers of gear. The first crafted (Dreadful), the second for honor (Malevolent) and the third worth conquest (Tyrannical), and a final level that will only open once you have gained over 27,000 conquest for the season (Elite Tyrannical). Once you open the ability to buy Elite Tyrannical, the regular Tyrannical changes so you can buy them with honor points, so that you can save all your conquest for buying the elite set.
At the start of the season Tyrannical weapons will still require a certain amount of conquest gained before they can be purchased, but once the next non-raid patch hits, this requirement will be removed so that anyone can use their points to purchase the weapons. Elite Tyrannical weapons will still always be gated by the 27,000 conquest requirement.
Lastly, they are making a "dynamic cap" for conquest points. What does that mean? Well let's say you are PVP McStabby, and cap your conquest every week at 1000. Once the cap resets it will let you get another 1000 conquest. But what about those people that missed a week? They would have "lost" that weeks worth of possible conquest points and can never catch up with McStabby. Well, in the new dynamic cap, for all the conquest you DIDN'T get that week, it will raise the cap.
Example. If I decided I hated PVP that week and never gained a single conquest point, then at the next reset my available cap will raise to 2000 conquest points. Another week passes, now the cap is 3000 conquest points. I finally get off my ass and start to PVP, gaining 500 conquest points. Once the next reset hits, the cap will raise to 3500 conquest points. If I decide to binge and gain all 3500 conquest points possible because of the high cap, once the next reset occurs, I will be back down to 1000 again.
The reason for these changes is to allow someone a much easier chance to catch up with those that started out in the beginning of the season, while still providing a strong reward for those that keep putting in the time (Elite Tyrannical).
