I don't think I've ever heard anybody use the adjective "abysmal" to mean anything other than "bad" when not describing a geological formation.

I have to admit, I never thought Deb would go that way. Surprised me. I figured Dexter would get all moral and decide to face the music, but Hannah would do it as a "gift". After the episode, the writers said they wanted to show that Dexter was for really reals a serial killer and not a superhero. Because why not crap on multiple seasons of character development?

Dexter was... just bad. It's sad when such a great show falls so far but the last two seasons have been piss poor. Seriously considering just not watching next season.

Homeland is Showtime's master now and I can't wait for the next season of that one.

Scrubs: Keith is a puppy not a man, Elliot is pathetic, JD is a moron, and Kim is a monster.

There. Season six in a nutshell.

Also, finished Sherlock season 2:

Neither is dead. Though now rumors are spreading that the show will be canceled, so we may never know.

Fringe season 5. ran through like, four episodes in a row. loving it. especially black blotter. its walter on acid again :D

only three episodes to go though :(

So yeah, I just finished the first season of "Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated". And all I gotta say is...DAMN! That was one hell of a season finale! I also never thought a parrot would be one of most menacing cartoon villains in years.

Just watched the latest Happy Endings.

This season the show's really letting me down. It used to be awesome, but the characters have become like parodies of themselves and the storylines and situations are just getting more and more inane and surreal, which doesn't fit the tone the show used to have, somehow. Also, if they want people to stop comparing them to F*R*I*E*N*D*S, they should stop, y'know, recycling fucking storylines from Friends. Seriously, just this very last one had two of them competing for the guy they chose for a blind date. Sure, this time they were setting up a gay guy instead of Rachel, but it's still straight from season 6 of Friends. Down to the "no, my guy!" "no, choose my guy!"

COME ON!

Watched the season premiere of Justified last night. It was an excellent show last night. It is strange listening to Patton Oswalt doing a Kentucky Accent for an hour.

Per another thread I watched the season 3 premier of Bob's Burgers. Not bad, not great. I'll probably watch a bit more to see if it grows on me.

I finally got around to watching Mockingbird Lane, and I thought it was fun, but I'm not sure I'm disappointed it got canceled. I have a feeling some of the gags would get old pretty quickly. It just didn't feel like something that could sustain itself for so long. The characters were interesting for one episode, but they were so inconsistent I'm not sure they'd hold up long-term. None of them showed much internal conflict over anything but their own family, despite the fact that the way they acted and talked seemed like they should have conflict. I'm not sure how to put it, it's like the conflict should be there, and two different directions were taken, but for the most part it didn't actually reach to the characters themselves in any sort of substantial or even comedic way.

My dad got me the first six seasons (I didn't even know this show was still going) of Burn Notice for christmas, as he knows I'm a Bruce Campbell fan. I'm kinda leery about starting to watch them...

It starts as a really great show, if you suspend your disbelief a bit, but around, I think, season 3 it starts being kinda gimmicky... but most people by then are hooked with the characters. Bruce Campbell is awesome in it anyway.

Burn Notice is pretty fantastic (or at least it is now, I didn't watch the first few seasons). Bruce is definitely on his A game in this show.

It's a good show, but after a while it gets REALLY repetitive.

Rewatching "The Mighty Boosh." Love this show.
That show was such a stealth hit for me. I happened to watch the "garbage fox" episode and was just like "ok wtf....."

I watched the first season of Burn Notice and hated every character with the exception of Bruce Campbell. I didn't find the female lead especially attractive, and I wanted to punch the main guy in his shit-eating grin every episode.

So yeah, great Bruce, but if that's your only reason for watching it, it's probably not enough.

Fiona is straight up anorexic, and most of her little body fat seems to be in that duckbill she calls lips.

*SASSY*[DOUBLEPOST=1357759822][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh yeah and my girlfriend got me to sit down and watch Girls, the HBO series. That show is straight up fantastic/hilarious. Definitely not just a chick show. Also totally not appropriate for kids obviously (it's on HBO yo).

Yeah, Fiona I found actually kinda ugly, even if she was the girl Pacino danced with in Scent of a Woman.

But I like her character. And I also liked the character of Michael, his grin and everything.[DOUBLEPOST=1357759899][/DOUBLEPOST]Girls is AWESOME, can't wait for the new season in a few days

I love Girls. Donald Glover (of Community fame) is in Season 2.[DOUBLEPOST=1357760401][/DOUBLEPOST]
. I didn't find the female lead especially attractive, .
Gusto we are buddies but I have to call this out... I uh. This is kind of shitty as a justification for a show being good or bad! What does it matter if she is attractive! It's pretty shitty to be like "I don't watch that show since the guy doesn't turn me on" too. But this happens WAY more often to women leads than men leads (see: the rest of this thread calling her ugly).

I know but I have to admit that I've watched some bad shows longer than I should have because there was an attractive woman in it.

My not being attracted to her isn't my justification for it being a bad show, it accomplishes that all on it's own via my other points, that none of the characters seemed particularly likeable. It was more of an add-on as to say "it doesn't even do THIS right".

Like others have said, it's a good show, especially for Campbell. I think it's lost a bit of it's charm in the past couple of seasons as it's become a bit more serious, but I still find it worth watching.

I think that sums up a lot of USA shows.

Burn Notice is a soap opera with guns. It's dumb fun, but it has no real substance. I missed a year of the show and I still knew exactly what was going. My favorite part is when they have to constantly drug BA's milk to get him on the helicopter.

Every USA show is the same. I pretty much dip in and watch or not watch them based on the charisma of the stars and some sort of diminishing marginal return on the premise.
