Faffing is British slang for messing around, not doing something seriously. I've just been running 1.5 milers, not really getting anything done, and over the holidays, I paid for it.

Currently 245. Goal is 200 (or 18% body fat, whichever comes first)

Not eye-candy yet, but...

Here you go, Gusto, Chad Sexington and BErt:

So my explanation wasn't making sense to me, so I made a stupid video instead.

Okay, what you're going to need is 2 slippery papers (I use ads cause they're the most slippery), stick them beneath your feet and get in to the plank position. I'm not going to lie, you need to have good form with this. You can't let your butt sag or stick it up in the air. It will hurt your back if you do that, and we don't want that. What you want is to pull your abs in and up - so they're tightened.

There are 4 moves and you're going to do each one for 50 seconds, then a 10 second 'rest' inbetween each move. The 10 seconds you hold in the plank position.

First move, slide your feet forward, towards your chest, but no bend in your legs. So, you make a little A-frame. Then slide back. 50 seconds.
Second move, slide your feet, knees together, towards one elbow. Bend in the legs. Slide back and switch sides. 50 seconds.
Third move, slide your feet towards your chest, knees bent. 50 seconds.
Fourth move, slide your feet/knees to your chest, then spread-eagle and slide them back into plank position. Repeat. 50 seconds.

Remember, it's all about control and good form. Do not let yourself start to sag, it's about quality reps, not quantity. Always have your abs engaged, tuck them in and up.

Do as many full sets as you can (I only do 2 - I do this exercise at the end of my workouts.)

Fair warning! There is a no creeping rule on this thread (obviously Adam is goofin' and totally fine) but just in case I felt I should elaborate!

I'm scared about my weigh-in. I'm eating well, and I'm active, but I don't feel very different. I'm scared to check my progress, too.

Even if there's no change -or worse! negative change- you'll have faced that. That'll feel better than fretting over it.

Plus we'll all still love you.

Well, probably.

If I weren't in Tapatalk I'd hug you. :) Jake talked me down after some hardcore self-loathing last night. He reminded me to focus on the good--on how far I've come. Then, since he's a loving husband, he squeezed and complimented my butt. :p So I'm feeling better, but still nervous. Guess all I can do is keep trying. Thanks. :)

Sometimes not feeling different is just fine, as long as you aren't regressing. The most important thing is that you don't give up! I think that's what happens to most people, they don't see instant results, so they give up.

I'm glad you're feeling better, I just wanted to give you some extra encouragement. You got this! Do your best to stay positive and keep on keepin' on. :)

Ugh.

Very difficult to post that online.
dude, YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks! :D I'm jogging and jumping rope again today... And the day after that, etc! Sunday is my day of rest, but I am really on a roll now.

Did my favorite quick, all-over workout a few days ago. Star jumps irritated my shin. FINE! I'm doing abs today. I can't see how that will hurt my leg

An hour of kickboxing at lunch working out some ang.....aggression. One of the guys I go with emails me afterwards "I feel so dirty, I went to McDonalds afterwards.

Let's do the math folks:

Vigorous martial arts, 45minutes: 666 calories burnt
Big Mac, large fries, diet coke: 1100 calories gained

Don't do that!
