Bring out Gifs!

I started using imgur since photobucket changed their layout and made it completely unusable for a couple critical weeks. I haven't really gone back.
 
His foundation provided some grant funds to sponsor a portion of that project. The cool thing is it first identifies the mosquito, then paints it with a nonlethal laser to measure the wing beat frequency. If it matches that of a female mosquito, it then shoots it with the higher power laser.

That way other bugs (and pets, animals, and humans) are left alone.
Thanks. I was sure I had seen that system detailed in a TED talk.

Though I can't say much, I worked on something very similar to this for the military. Only instead of mosquitos, the targets were vehicles and sappers, and the weapons were ballistic, not lasers. Similar concept in a great number of ways, though.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until you said something... the backpack gets pulled in too, which probably means a hard yank on the shoulders, snap crackle pop chiropractic.

She's actually lucky that happened. Had it not it really could have broken her back.
