I pretty much only use imgur now, but it still has size limits which is stupid.
Ugh, I want to flee my computer just imagining what that smells like.
Probably somewhere between mace and agent orange.Ugh, I want to flee my computer just imagining what that smells like.
It's been accelerated for effect. There were no injuries.Dear lord, that's disturbing.
Isn't that one of the Gates-sponsored projects?
Shut up and take etc.
Thanks. I was sure I had seen that system detailed in a TED talk. His foundation provided some grant funds to sponsor a portion of that project. The cool thing is it first identifies the mosquito, then paints it with a nonlethal laser to measure the wing beat frequency. If it matches that of a female mosquito, it then shoots it with the higher power laser.
That way other bugs (and pets, animals, and humans) are left alone.
Though I can't say much, I worked on something very similar to this for the military. Only instead of mosquitos, the targets were vehicles and sappers, and the weapons were ballistic, not lasers. Similar concept in a great number of ways, though. His foundation provided some grant funds to sponsor a portion of that project.
