The Super Dooper Canadian Thread (now with 47% more Canadian Bacon)

This almost made me smash my tv. I don't even like Trudeau but this shit is complete fucking nonsense. This actually enrages me and leaves me nauseated.

I don't want to live in this country anymore.
Have to understand, the media has been sucking his schwanglong since he even hinted at running; there's no disputing that he's inexperienced - it's an election, it's not a cooperative fun time.

In 2 and a half years it's an election. 2.5 years. I expect this trash during election season, not when it's almost unfathomably far away.

The great thing about only having the 5% tax in Alberta when at a restaurant is that you can just triple the tax and know what you're tipping. Minimal math.
Sucks to be you buddy! In Nova Scotia with 15% tax, all I have to do is just use the tax to know what I'm tipping.

Wait a minute...

I've come to expect election season to never end; product of the American infini-campaign.

So here's a long-shot question, but what the heck...

Any Canadian Batman fans familiar with this old fanzine? And if so, do you happen to know how I may procure a copy of this specific issue?

The last issue of The Midnight Conference featuring cover art by Sergio Aragones? That's 1988 right? Um, not sure other than auction sites.

Also, checkeredhat you slimy little twinkle toes communist peter puffer! Whatcha doing for lunch tomorrow? 'Cause I am Toronto bound, and due to a small oversight from my travel agent, I am flying into the island instead of Pearson.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw shit. I didn't have anything planned for tomorrow except for some grocery shopping and a trip to the hardware store.
Guess my new plan is to meet up with a strange man I met on the internet.[DOUBLEPOST=1366411992][/DOUBLEPOST]Trying to think of good places to eat downtown, but I'll be honest with ya, I don't spend much time down there. I spend most of my time in Queen West, Kensington or the Annex. Or, y'know, Etobicoke cause I live here.

How long is your layover? The Distillery District has some good pubs/ restaurants.

It's not a lay over. I have meetings at the airport starting at 4 on Saturday until 2 on Sunday.

I get in around 1:30 Saturday and fly out at 6:30 Sunday, so there is a little room for lunch on Saturday.

Meetings AT the airport? This confuses me. I've never been to Billy Bishop Airport. Does that mean you can or cannot hop on a ferry and get to the mainland?

Instead of flying into Pearson and attending the meetings at the hotel located there, I am flying into BBA and going to have to TTC it to Pearson.

Oh.
Ew. Dude, that sucks.

That means you will be taking the subway right past my apartment.
Too bad you're here for lunch and not later. We could watch the Leafs beat (?) (Please?) the Sens.
It does complicate actually going anywhere for lunch though. Pearson is in the middle of nowhere (where I used to live), so you're looking at a pretty good TTC commute.

Distillery District is also probably out now, as it's not on the main subway lines which you'll want to stick to to keep the commute time down. What's good that's right along the main subway line.... hmmm.

It was 22°C out two days ago. 19° yesterday. HCGLNS shows up in my city and BAM! It's snowing, with a high of 3° and a low of -3°. You'll note that as HCGLNS leaves tomorrow morning, the weather begins to warm up again before finally falling into April appropriate temperatures on Monday when he has finally taken his snow back with him:

Fuck that! I'm HCGLNS man! Also, checkeredhat is much better looking than Nick.

Seriously, if I can make this happened on a plane from he'll, you can make the car drive happen. :p

Stop by in Montreal on your way back.
I swear, next time I am in Montreal I am visiting. And then either we will have to avoid the subject of hockey altogether, or I will never leave the shallow grave you dig in your backyard for me.[DOUBLEPOST=1366514324][/DOUBLEPOST]
Man don't guilt me son. I give myself enough of that.
I know its for real mostly my fault. I will wait until I hear about my contract before we attempt to plan another SW Ontario meetup.

My main problem with any sort of a meetup in Ontario is that little thing about a border crossing.
As someone in a movie once said, "It doesn't take Houdini to sneak in from Canada." The same applies legally both ways: have a passport, be happy. No more than that if you're a citizen of the USA w/o a criminal record. If you do... well I dunno.

(Extra points if you know which movie that is)

Oh, I know there wouldn't be any problem getting into Canada.

It's getting back to the States that would be a problem.
