If Xbox wins, it's going to be because of publisher support and it's still overall stronger gaming brand (at least in the US). The latter may be flagging, but outside the truly hardcore, it's still the stronger gaming brand.
Sony just has a much better chance right now of taking that away.
I had an xbox 360 and a decent library of games.
There is no way in hell I will buy the new xbox one.
It's also unlikely I would buy the new playstation... but IF I were to get a console... it would be the new playstation.

What super games does the XBOX have that the PS3 doesn't? I mean other than Halo? What games are all these XBOX fans playing that I'm completely unaware of?

It's a short list and not worth all this stupid bullshit. But then again, I never saw much point in the console wars to begin with.
The 360 has always had a large sales advantage over the PS3 with the big multi-platform games (CoD, BF, Madden, etc.) and their exclusives list from E3 was better.

Throw Gears in there, take away some former PS advantages like Metal Gear Solid. Quantic Dream games are great and everything, but they're just not in the same vein.
The 360 has an indisputable brand advantage in the US, and while we all hate their new used games pronouncements, publishers will love them.
Sony undoubtedly stole the initiative, but it's not a win unless they're able to capitalize on it.
It's on PC as well. Hardly exclusive.
In that case Sony doesn't have as many exclusives either, and this whole conversation is as stupid and pointless as ever.
I assume SpecialKO was referring to console exclusivity, which won't mean much for primarily PC gamers that get consoles just for that games that don't come out on PC, but would be important for gamers who primarily play console games.

I do seem to recall that when some games that were on both were compared, the textures on PS3 were much blurrier than the 360 version. Also, we all remember the PS3 Skyrim bug, right? The PS3 really was the flounderer of the previous generation... but none of that seems to have any bearing as in the upcoming generation as it seems all bets are off.
Yeah, I'm not trying to start a who has a better exclusive list. My point was that it seemed that most of the xbox friends I have are either playing the same games I am on my PS3 or saying, "No, I can't play that on xbox" but I rarely hear them talk about anything other than Halo or Gears of War that isn't on both platforms. Clearly I'm only talking from personal experience. I haven't researched it or anything.

Good bet that anything not developed by a North American studio will be too. Dead Rising 3 won't stay exclusive long. Microsoft isn't releasing the XBO in asia for a year after it releases here and Europe, kind of giving credence to the rumoured hardware issues they're having.

It's far more likely they aren't releasing at launch in Asia because the Xbox 360 never gained ground in Japan, only China (where it was modded to play illegal games so no one got cash for that region). They aren't focusing on that market because they ether can't connect with the audience or can't get past the whole "not a Japanese company" thing.
Yeah, it looks dumb as hell. We had better get a wacky re-release starring Frank and Chuck or the series is dead to me. The fun, crazy, wacky stuff is the best part of Dead Rising and removing it turns the series into Resident Evil.
For purposes of clarity, when you're talking about exclusives, I think it's pretty much accepted that you mean that the game can only be played on that console and nowhere else, including PC.

It's not just Japan though, it's Asia entirely. That's half the world's population. Sony's making huge strides, especially in India. But Sony's always been better at tapping emerging markets, exactly why the Ps2 is the most dominant console of all time.
Xbone's US-centric view of services and such may do well in North America but man, they're not doing themselves any favours where the other 6 billion people live.

Because they do. There's a bunch of posts all over the internet about it. I think it's stupid that the 3DS has been out for two years and its Virtual Console is so lackluster. It's even more stupid that they're porting GBA games to the Wii U before selling them on 3DS VC. They are aware of which system is selling better, right? They also must be aware that people aren't going to buy a Wii U for the VC. That's an extra bit. They need to start coming out with some real games for Wii U if they want that system to sell. In the meantime, they could be raking in more money with a grander VC on the 3DS.

If it makes you feel better I'm very sad that I can't get Gameboy games on the Wii U. In fact we don't get GBA games either, which seems to be a 3DS exclusive perk. So I'm not sure why that part of the complaint.
Nintendo announced earlier this year GBA games were headed to the Wii U. The last time they said that for 3DS was in 2011 ... still waiting.

I know it will never happen, but this is the news I want to see:
The only way to get them is through the Ambassador program. If you aren't an early adopter, you can't download them.
Sucks for you guys, I'll be over here playing all these games.
