This pretty much sums up my Steam sale strategy. My rule is generally to wait until it's either 75% off, or $10 or less (hence, 66% off Borderlands 2 season pass = $10 = pounced upon).

Revelations is definitely more of a throwback to the old style of RE games, but it still has some of the flaws that started in RE5. It's fun, but not without issue.Revelations isn't really that good. I guess compared to RE6, but they both share similar problems from what I've heard of RE6.
The Ultimate Edition, with all the DLC is $4.99Fallout New Vegas $2.49
You said that, and my first thought was still, "Is that worth it, though?" Like $5 for a game is obscene, while I drink my $5.20 white chocolate mochachino. The Ultimate Edition, with all the DLC is $4.99
$5 plus weeks of DLC goodness. You said that, and my first thought was still, "Is that worth it, though?" Like $5 for a game is obscene, while I drink my $5.20 white chocolate mochachino.
If Kerbal comes 10 or under, I'm buying it.I just bought Kerbal Space Program for $3. I had about $10 in my Steam Wallet from selling trading cards.
Heh, interesting... 955 hours to complete my backlog, account worth $1026Here's a fun little thing.

It'll give you a ballpark of how long it will take you to finish your Steam backlog. It also gives you the value of your Steam account.
My own numbers are depressing. It would take me nearly 4000 hours to finish all my games (3953.42 to be exact)
My Steam account is worth a whopping 3916.00
Skyrim legendary up for a vote for next community choice for a piddling 40% off AGAIN. Downright insulting. This is a 2011 game we're talking about, even if it is one of the best games ever made... the discount should be at LEAST 50. Borderlands 2 went 66% and it's both newer AND still pumping out DLC, unlike Skyrim!
/first world problems, I know
Not my money. My threshold for that was going to be $20 bucks, but if I'm going to have to wait for a later sale anyway, I may hold out for $10 out of spite. They're probably keeping it at 40%-ish BECAUSE it's one of the best games ever made. They know they'll still make money off it.

Me, I've been considering getting some more Sims DLC, especially Pets and University. But then I thought how often I honestly have played Sims 3 and decided not to. If it goes any higher than 50% off (unlikely), I might reconsider.
If you can stomach Origin, they're having a huge sale on all things Sims. Sims 3 by itself was $5, whereas it was $15 on the steam sale.
Going to finally buy SS2, the mods for it look pretty spiffy.System Shock 2 is $2.50. If you never played this.... this is a great opportunity. (I'd play COOP)
Yes and the mod manager is perfect. Easy to update and manage.Going to finally buy SS2, the mods for it look pretty spiffy.
Heh, I think the game most worthwhile in today's sale is Football Manager. Though that might be because I've never played System Shock.
Which is cheaper than the previous Humble Bundle, but without a lot of the unique goods. Still, it's good if all you want are the games. And a buck more gets you both Alan Wakes (3.99 for the pair)
It is damn hard to find games that can run on a netbook. Even stuff that seems like pretty straightforward 2D stuff can actually be more of a resource hog than I'd imagine. (Like the Wadjet Eye adventure games, like the Blackwell Trilogy, which will run on a netbook, but will chug at points.)I wish my computer (a tiny notebook) could run most of these games. According to Can You Run It, it won't even play Mark of the Ninja.
